Introduction The aim of this study is to construct and validate new machine learning models predict pneumonia events in intensive care unit (ICU) patients with acute brain injury. Methods Acute injury ICU hospitals from January 1, 2020, December 31, 2021 were retrospective reviewed. Patients divided into training, validation sets. primary outcome was nosocomial infection during stay. Machine including XGBoost, DecisionTree, Random Forest, Light GBM, Adaptive Boost, BP, TabNet used for model...

Summary The role of NOD-like receptor family (NLRP3) has been confirmed in various inflammatory diseases. association between NLRP3 and hyper-bileacidaemia during the sepsis remains unclear. We aimed to investigate whether silencing protects against sepsis-induced hyper-bileacidaemia. Sepsis was induced by caecum ligation puncture (CLP). Gene performed injecting rats with short hairpin RNA plasmids (NLRP3 shRNA) 48 h before surgery. Rats were divided into four groups: group 1: sham; 2:...

We present several improvements of the full-Newton step infeasible interior-point method for linear optimization introduced by Roos (SIAM J. Optim. 16(4):1110–1136, 2006). Each main consists a feasibility and centering steps. use more natural step, which targets μ +-center next pair perturbed problems. As steps, we apply sharper quadratic convergence result, leads to slightly wider neighborhood Moreover, analysis is much simplified iteration bound better.

We study a one-parameter family of quadratic maps, which serves as template for interior point methods. It is known that such methods can exhibit chaotic behavior, but this has been verified only particular linear optimization problems. Our results indicate behavior generic.

We present an absolute measurement of a two-photon absorption (TPA) coefficient C60 thin film at 633 nm. Large values β≊4.4 cm/W were determined. A nearly resonant TPA transition around the 3.76 eV region was discussed.

In [SIAM J. Optim., 16 (2006), pp. 1110–1136], Roos proved that the devised full-step infeasible algorithm has $O(n)$ worst-case iteration complexity. This complexity bound depends linearly on a parameter $\bar{\kappa}(\zeta)$, which is to be less than $\sqrt{2n}$. Based extensive computational evidence (hundreds of thousands randomly generated problems), conjectured $\bar{\kappa}(\zeta)=1$ (Conjecture 5.1 in above-mentioned paper), would yield an $O(\sqrt{n})$ full-Newton step...

Intersection management is an important problem to improve the traffic efficiency. A novel IoT framework (IoTF) proposed control vehicles at a signal-free intersection. An intersection includes potential path conflict locations, which are represented by timed Petri net in IoTF. To ensure safety and efficiency, driving should not occupy same location time block each other. In cyberspace, passing orders of calculated pass through without any collisions deadlocks. The cost function aims...
