This paper proposes a method for dynamically controlling the working slope configuration in seasonal stripping open-pit coal mines. In this demo abstract, we describe an occupancy-based control (OBC) system under development that has potential to save 18% of the energy use on average in office buildings having single-duct variable-air-volume (VAV) heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems.
