The effects of annealing temperatures on the electrochemical properties silicon carbide anode films are investigated for lithium-ion battery applications. SiC film shows improved performance with increasing temperature. 900 °C-annealed exhibits a reversible capacity 580 mAh g <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">-1</sup> over 100 cycles. Moreover, displays better rate less severe degradation (~ 12.2%) than other two films.
