It has been suggested that polycythemia vera (PV) could be preceded by an "early" phase of the disease (e-PV), in which increase red cell parameters is lower than required for a PV diagnosis. In this study, we compared clinicopathologic and molecular features 17 patients with e-PV those 14 essential thrombocythemia (ET) 19 PV. The results were more similar to ET. fact, characterized parameters, splenomegaly (P<.05), hepatomegaly (P=.038), together hypercellular bone marrow due increased...

We reviewed a large series of patients with essential thrombocythemia diagnosed on the basis Polycythemia Vera Study Group criteria, and reclassified them by evaluating their major morphologic features clinical course using World Health Organization classification. The review bone marrow biopsies 116 (44 males 72 females; aged 19 – 83 years, median 55 years; follow-up 121 months) led to 22 cases (19%) being classified as (ET), 24 (21%) chronic idiopathic myelofibrosis (CIMF)-0, 44 (37%)...

To identify molecular characteristics to hepatitis C virus (HCV)-associated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) through a comprehensive miRNAs expression profiling. In this study, miRNA profiles were obtained from 37 patients with DLBCLs and 60 reactive lymph nodes, equally distributed according HCV presence. Germinal centres, nodes used as controls. Clinical features at presentation available for all patients.A set of 52 define signature HCV-associated DLBCL. Importantly, decreased...

We examined 28 cases of primary bone lymphomas (PBL; stage IE) and 26 systemic involving the (SBL; IIE to IV). Two histologic types were prevalent: Diffuse large B-cell (DLBCL; PBL 21 SBL) CD30+ anaplastic cell (ALCL; 1 4 SBL). A mature B phenotype (CD45+, CD20+, CD79a+, CDw75+/-, CD10-/+) was established in DLBCL group. Bcl-2 immunoreactivity demonstrated 13/37 (35%), bcl-6 immunostaining observed 22/32 (69%). ALCL showed null/T (CD3-/+; CD43+/-; CD30+), with ALKI-1 expression 3/3 cases....

VEGF levels normalized for cellularity (VEGF index [VEGFi]) were higher World Health Organization (WHO) classification-based scoring system (WPSS) "very high risk" than low group (P = .009) and MDS a poor karyotype other cytogenetic risk groups .015). Lipoid pneumonia (LP) is a rare lung disease caused by the exposure and subsequent accumulation of lipidic substances in lung. It can be classified exogenous or endogenous acute chronic. Bronchoscopy with bronchoalveolar lavage transbronchial biopsies revealed multifocal amorphous eosinophilic birefringent material lipid laden foamy alveolar...

Undervalued in the past, BM histology has recently grown importance terms diagnosis (i.e., MDS with fibrosis, hypoplastic MDS) prognostic assessment clusters CD34+ blasts).
