Different from the traditional ideal column symmetry cavities, we directly generated cylindrical vector pulsed beams in folded six-mirror cavity by employing a c-cut Tm:CaYAlO4 (Tm:CYA) crystal and SESAM. By adjusting distance between curved mirror (M4) SESAM, both radially polarized beam azimuthally are around 1962 nm two vectorial modes can be freely switched resonator. Further increased pump power to 7 W, stable Q-switched mode-locked (QML) were also obtained with an output of 55 mW,...

Abstract In this paper, we explored the different performances of evolution polarization control parameters under algorithm optimization in one‐dimensional, two‐dimensional, and three‐dimensional parameter space. We found that genetic (GA) operation has a typical converging trend as epoch increasing groups ultra‐fast pulse generation. The corresponding deviations were calculated to be 10.8%, 11.2%, 5.0%, respectively, which is from traversal operation. noise‐like state was effectively...

The emission wavelength of an ultrafast laser generated by thulium (Tm)-doped fiber (TDFL) ranges from 1.7 to 2.1 μm, covering the water-absorbing band and atmospheric transmission window. In this study, intelligent Tm-doped mode-locked was experimentally demonstrated combining a genetic algorithm (GA) with adaptive mutation rate nonlinear polarization rotation oscillator. A closed-loop feedback system set up in experiment, including oscilloscope, laptop computer, electric controller, Based...

In the past few years, annular structured beams have been extensively studied due to their unique “doughnut” structure and characteristics such as phase polarization vortices. Especially in 2 µm wavelength range, they shown promising applications fields novel laser communication, optical processing, quantum information processing. this Letter, we observed basis vector patterns with orthogonality completeness by finely cavity-mode tailoring end-mirror space position a Tm:CaYAlO 4 laser....

Abstract We demonstrate stable continuous-wave mode-locking (CWML) pulses around 1645 nm by employing a homemade Er:YAG ceramic. By using fiber laser and semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) with modulation depth of 1.2%, we get ML an output average power up to 815 mW, pulse width shortened as ∼4 ps, peak ∼1.8 kW. With the SESAM 2.4%, second-order harmonic were also obtained. As far know, this is first report CWML from Er 3+ -doped ceramics shortest duration in solid-state oscillators.
