Band offsets at ZnO/PbSe heterostructure interfaces are determined by synchrotron radiation photoelectron spectroscopy. A type-I band alignment with the valence offset (VBO) ΔEV = 0.73 eV and conduction (CBO) ΔEC 2.36 is concluded for film heterojunctions. ZnO films were prepared on sapphire (012) substrates under an oxygen-rich condition by atmospheric-pressure metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MO-CVD) using zinc acetylacetonate and oxygen gas.
