Continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites (CFRTP) have been increasingly used in aerospace and rail transport recent years because of their high strength light weight. In this paper, the effects nozzle temperature, printing speed, substrate temperature layer thickness on tensile properties macro/microscopic damage modes CAF/PA12 printed specimens was systematically investigated. The volume fraction(FVF) filaments 25.62%. maximum average modulus reached 572.60 MPa 18.49 GPa,...
Abstract A multi‐stage fiber spreading process for the preparation of high‐performance continuous aramid reinforced nylon 12 (CAF/PA12) composites was proposed in this paper. The effects rod crown radius, axis height and traction speed on impregnation effect filaments properties were investigated. volume fraction prepared filament approximately 30%. And maximum tensile strength modulus 839.89 MPa 41.35 GPa, which 34.36% 34.30% higher than unspreading filaments, respectively. influences...
Abstract Hot-pressing post-treatment can effectively improve the mechanical properties of composite specimens. In order to impact resistance continuous aramid fiber-reinforced nylon 12 (CAF/PA12) composites, effect hot-pressing parameters on interlaminar shear strength was studied. The effects temperature, time, and pressure formed specimens were studied by single factor test. Based optimized hot-pressing, influence low-speed performance analyzed. results shown that first increased then...
Continuous fiber additive manufacturing technology has developed rapidly in recent years, and pore a great influence on the properties of composites. Through optimization process aramid (AF) reinforced composite filament forming, internal porosity composites was reduced, stable wire provided for continuous manufacturing. A mathematical model 0° orientation established, measured by Micro-CT, correctness verified with absolute error 0.26%, relative 2.16%. The parameters printing speed, layer...
The lack of fiber restraint during the preparation continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin composite filaments makes fibers inside prone to curl and deflection, which affects mechanical properties composites. This study aimed investigate impact tension on tensile aramid (CAF) /nylon 12(PA12) molded parts. Tensile experiments specimens were conducted in conjunction with acoustic emission (AE) instruments computed tomography (CT). results showed that CAF/PA12 filament its rose first...
