The electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is important for many renewable energy technologies. Developing cost-effective electrocatalysts with high performance remains a great challenge. Here, we successfully demonstrate our novel interface catalyst comprised of Ni3Fe1-based layered double hydroxides (Ni3Fe1-LDH) vertically immobilized on two-dimensional MXene (Ti3C2Tx) surface. Ni3Fe1-LDH/Ti3C2Tx yielded an anodic OER current 100 mA cm–2 at 0.28 V versus reversible hydrogen...

Vibrational sum frequency scattering (VSFS) has shown great utility in monitoring organics at sub-micrometer droplet surfaces, but the adsorbates were present upon generation. Herein, we first direct observation of heterogeneous gas-phase adsorption to surfaces using situ VSFS spectroscopy. This marks a significant development technique by allowing under ambient conditions, not relying on bulk removal or uptake. Using flow tube system, investigated formic acid vapor different interaction...

Photoinduced relaxation processes at interfaces are intimately related to many fields such as solar energy conversion, photocatalysis, and photosynthesis. Vibronic coupling plays a key role in the fundamental steps of interface-related photoinduced processes. is expected be different from that bulk due unique environment. However, vibronic has not been well understood lack experimental tools. We have recently developed two-dimensional electronic-vibrational sum frequency generation...

The surface states of photoelectrodes as catalysts heavily influence their performance in photocatalysis and photoelectrocatalysis applications. These are necessary for developing robust solutions to the climate global energy crises by promoting CO2 reduction, N2 contaminant degradation, water splitting. semiconductors that can fill this role beholden processes charge generation, separation, utilization, which turn products states, electric fields, carrier dynamics. Methods typically used...

Short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging systems offer remarkable advantages, such as enhanced resolution and contrast, compared to their optical counterparts. However, broader applications demand improvements in performance, notably the elimination of cryogenic temperature requirements cost reduction manufacturing processes. In this manuscript, we present a new development SWIR photodetection, exploiting potential metal halide perovskite materials. Our work introduces cost-effective easily...

The movements of molecules at interfaces and surfaces are restricted by their asymmetric environments, leading to anisotropic orientational motions. In this work, in-plane motions the -C=O -CF3 groups coumarin 153 (C153) air/water interface were measured using time-resolved (TR) vibrational sum frequency generation (SFG). time constants C153 found be 41.5 ± 8.2 36.0 4.5 ps. These values over five-times faster than that 198 15 ps for permanent dipole whole molecule interface, which may...
