The Canadian Penning Trap mass spectrometer has made measurements of 33 neutron-rich nuclides provided by the new Californium Rare Isotope Breeder Upgrade facility at Argonne National Laboratory. studied region includes $^{132}\mathrm{Sn}$ double shell closure and ranges in $Z$ from In to Cs, with Sn isotopes measured out $A=135$, typical measurement precision is 100 ppb level or better. encompasses a possible major waiting point astrophysical $r$ process, impact masses on process shown...

The Canadian Penning Trap mass spectrometer at the Californium Rare Isotope Breeder Upgrade (CARIBU) facility was used to measure masses of eight neutron-rich isotopes Nd and Sm. These measurements are first push into region nuclear relevant formation rare-earth abundance peak $A\ensuremath{\sim}165$ by rapid neutron-capture process. We compare our results with theoretical predictions obtained from ``reverse engineering'' surface that best reproduces observed solar abundances in this through...

The electroweak interaction in the standard model is described by a pure vector-axial-vector structure, though any Lorentz-invariant component could contribute. In this Letter, we present most precise measurement of tensor currents low-energy regime examining β-ν[over ¯] correlation trapped ^{8}Li ions with Beta-decay Paul Trap. We find a_{βν}=-0.3325±0.0013_{stat}±0.0019_{syst} at 1σ for case coupling to right-handed neutrinos (C_{T}=-C_{T}^{'}), which consistent prediction.

Abstract. Phase transitions can influence mantle convection patterns, inhibiting or promoting vertical flow. One such transition is the ringwoodite-to-bridgmanite plus periclase transition, which has a negative Clapeyron slope and therefore reduces flow between upper lower mantle. Interactions different significant curvature potentially result in complexities mid-mantle geodynamics – affecting stagnation of slabs free upward motion plumes. Here, we consider two examples where non-linear...

We present the first measurement of α-β-ν angular correlation in Gamow-Teller β^{+} decay ^{8}B. This was accomplished using Beta-decay Paul Trap, expanding on our previous work β^{-} ^{8}Li. The ^{8}B result is consistent with V-A electroweak interaction standard model and, its own, provides a limit exotic right-handed tensor current relative to axial-vector |C_{T}/C_{A}|^{2}<0.013 at 95.5% confidence level. represents high-precision measurements mirror decays and made possible through use...

Beta-delayed-neutron ($\beta$n) spectroscopy was performed using the Beta-decay Paul Trap and an array of radiation detectors. The $\beta$n branching ratios energy spectra for $^{135,136}$Sb $^{140}$I were obtained by measuring time flight recoil ions emerging from trapped ion cloud. These nuclei are located at edge isotopic region identified as having that impact r-process abundance pattern around A~130 peak. Studies aiming to determine the astrophysical origins of nuclei produced by rapid neutron capture process ($r$ process) rely on nuclear properties as inputs for simulations. The solar abundances can be used a benchmark such calculations, with $r$-process rare-earth peak (REP) around mass number ($A$) $164$ being special interest due its presently unknown origin. With advancement rare isotope beam production over last decade and improvement in experimental sensitivities, many these REP...
