In this paper, a Wiener filtering algorithm in the wavelet domain is proposed to filter laser self-mixing interference (SMI) signals, which used improve accuracy of displacement reconstruction. The theoretically constructed and applied both high-frequency coefficients low-frequency domain, are obtained by two-level discrete transformation (DWT) decomposition from unfiltered SMI signals. Two-level threshold determined without any manual judgment. Subsequently, inverse DWT employed generate...

Recent advances in multi-band amplification support ultra-wideband (UWB) systems as a suitable solution to cope with the increasing fiber communications traffic demand. The combination of UWB spectral-efficient modulation formats can significantly increase total throughput wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) transmission systems. <p xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">In this work, we demonstrate 240×70 Gbaud PCS-256QAM WDM using an...

Ultrawide-bandwidth (UWB) optical amplification covering C+L bands over 102 nm is implemented by using a seamless semiconductor amplifier (SOA) as high-power booster with maximum output power of 24.4 dBm well hybrid scheme pre-amplification, which combines backward distributed Raman pumping SOA. In order to provide understanding the transmission performance SOA, we perform thorough SOA characterization. By applying different total input powers, have measured spectrum shape and power....

More than two decades after the first terabit transmission using C+L band, recent advancements in ultra-wideband (UWB) technology have demonstrated remarkably high-throughput achievements S+C+L demonstrations. The development of fast and reliable closed-form propagation models accounting for wavelength-dependent impairments has paved way effective equalization techniques that contribute to this capacity boost. In work, we compare systems C systems, highlighting importance model-based power...

Laser-induced damage thresholds (LIDTs) of input/exit surfaces and filamentation fused silica under low-temporal coherence light (LTCL) a corresponding mechanism are investigated. By comparing self-focusing effects for each incident laser, the lower LIDT LTCL irradiation is mainly attributed to stronger than traditional single longitudinal mode (SLM) pulse lasers. Meanwhile, differences in LIDTs by SLM laser backward stimulated Brillouin scattering. Finally, influences thickness polarization...

Abstract All-fiber optical current sensor (AFOCS) is a perfect product formed by the combination of fiber-optic sensing technology and Faraday effect. It boasts significant advantages such as resistance to electromagnetic interference, high measurement dynamic range precision, low power consumption, cost, insulation. Additionally, it enables long-distance transmission, making one main devices for monitoring in smart grids. However, birefringence within fiber highly susceptible changes...
