ABSTRACT The genus Peromyscus has been extensively used as a model for ecological, behavioral, and evolutionary investigations. We auditory brainstem responses (ABRs), craniofacial morphology, pinna measurements to compare characteristics that impact hearing in two wild-caught species, P. leucopus maniculatus . observed significant statistical differences attributes between species with overall exhibiting larger features than ABR recordings indicated both showed similar best frequency...
ABSTRACT The hispid pocket mouse ( C. hispidus ) is a solitary semi-fossorial rodent that has been the subject of various ecological and genetic studies. However, no previous studies have characterized its hearing ability, which important for survival fitness. We collected auditory brainstem responses (ABRs) from measured craniofacial pinna morphological features to assess ability test differences in thresholds, monaural binaural ABR amplitudes latencies between sexes. recordings revealed...
SUMMARYThe present report describes the chromosomes in three species of bugs, namely Coptosoma W Montand., duodecimpunctatum Germ. and nepalense Westw., belonging to family Plataspididae. The diploid number them has been found be 12, 12 10 respectively, with invariably XY-type sex mechanism male. Karyotypes evolution Plataspididae have also discussed. All these are quite new additions cytology.
