The effect of initial grain size on the hot torsional behaviour nickel has been examined in range 800–1000° C over a wide strain rates. Significant changes torque/twist curves have observed. Metallographic examination shown that kinetics dynamic recrystallization is accelerated by decrease size. Recrystallization proceeds nucleation new grains with limited growth forming colonies grains. Grain-boundary usually observed but certain circumstances intragranular occurs.
Abstract Currently, significant efforts are being made to develop biodegradable Mg-based materials as alternatives bone implants. Beyond enhancing strength, it is crucial slow down the degradation rate align with healing process. Magnesium-carbonate apatite (Mg-xCAp) composites were developed through a combination of warm compaction and extrusion processes. Carbonate Apatite (CAp), calcium phosphate-based bio-ceramic, not only serves reinforcement but also stimulus for formation osteoblast...
Ti 6Al-4V ELI (Extra Low Interstitial)alloy containing 6wt% of aluminum, 4wt% vanadium with controlled level iron and oxygen is one most popular alloy employed in biomedical applications as implant material. Heat treatment process for titanium alloys becomes important could be performed by some different ways order to develop microstructure well its properties. The objective this paper study the effects solution temperature on mechanical properties as-cast Ti-6Al-4V especially microhardness...
Surface roughness is a critical factor affecting the performance of dental implants. One approach to influence this through sandblasted, large grit, acid-etched (SLA) modification on pure titanium implant surfaces. In study, SLA was performed grade IV titanium. Sandblasting conducted at distances 2, 4, and 6 cm. Subsequently, samples were etched with mixed acid solution HCl, H 2 SO 4 , O for 0, 30, 60 min. X-ray diffraction (XRD) characterizations samples. The results revealed that surface...
Ti-6Al-4V Extra Low Interstitial (ELI) alloys have been widely used for biomedical application as implant materials due to its excellent mechanical properties and good corrosion resistance. Furthermore, of this alloy could be improved by heat treatment process. In research, it has studied the effect temperature on microstructure hardness casted ELI alloy. After calculation material balance obtain composition, raw were melted using single arc melting furnace flowed with argon gas was casted....
The type of stainless steel that is most commonly used in bone implants austenitic 316L steel, which has an excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. Center for Materials Technology, BPPT, cooperation with a local industry, currently undertaking research into integrating, refining alloying processes the production medical grade using raw material originating from ferronickel Pomalaa. Natural resources ferronickel, one main materials are locally available Indonesia. Other alloy metals...

In order to improve the manufacturing of as-cast stainless steel 316 L, controlling formation inclusions through oxidation process is crucial. A research study focused on cleaning liquid medical-grade L metal alloy was conducted. The utilised an Argon gas diffuser installed at bottom furnace. Different furnace capacities were tested during casting process, with a non-diffuser used as comparison. Molten poured into Mold, producing tensile test specimens temperatures ranging from 1560°C...
