Seed aging has adverse effects on agricultural production, mainly because seed vigor is inhibited. Spermidine can improve vitality and germination ability to a certain extent essential for plant growth response stress. This study explored how spermidine counteracted sorghum through antioxidant metabolism regulation. Aged seeds showed decreased due heightened reactive oxygen species (ROS) diminished antioxidants. Applying notably enhanced aged seeds' by boosting enzyme activity curbing ROS....

The length of sorghum mesocotyl plays a vital role in seed emergence from the soil, which is foundation healthy growth. In this study, we aimed to understand how exogenous auxin (IAA) promoted elongation and its physiology mechanism. results presented that IAA significantly MS24B (short inbred line) by increasing cell length, while with extra NPA (IAA inhibitor) application, significant short phenotype. Z210 (long line), had slight effect on elongation, treatment decreased considerably....

Starch accumulation and the seven metabolic enzyme activities in sorghum grains with different starch contents were investigated under field conditions Shenyang Agricultural University. The results indicated that Tieza17 (high content variety) Liaoza11 (low could be fitted logistic equation. of sucrose synthase (SS), soluble (SSS) uridine diphosphate glucose pyrophosphorylase (UGPase) similar to those Liaoza11. Adenosine (AGPase) granule-bound (GBSS) consistently higher than grains....

Sorghum northern anthracnose is a leaf disease affecting sorghum, which results in plant death and substantial yield loss. This study aimed to effectively understand the disease, clarify its biological characteristics, evaluate resistance of germplasm resources. A field sample was collected isolate purify pathogen. The pathogen, identified as Kabatiella zeae Narita et Hiratsuka using both morphological molecular techniques, further confirmed causative agent sorghum following Robert Koch’s...
