ABSTRACT
Objective
To evaluate the accuracy of variation epidural labor analgesia in predicting cesarean section.
Methods
A total 1 200 parturients with a single baby who were at full term singleton fetus, aged 22-34 yr, weighing 60-85 kg, American Society Anesthesiologists physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ, volunteered for pain relief, enrolled study.Epidural (patient-controlled analgesia)was performed when uterine contraction was regular and cervical dilatation 2-3 cm.Patient-controlled solution contained mixture 0.1% ropivacaine fentanyl 2 μg/ml background infusion 9 ml/h, bolus dose 4 ml, lockout interval 15 min.The defined as difference between highest visual analog scale score during 30 min after injection initial local anesthetic. The receiver operating characteristic curve used to section. The optimal cut-off value determined according maximum Youden index.
Results
The area under section 0.795, index 53.6%, sensitivity 87.5% specificity 66.1% 3.
Conclusion
Variation produces better section.
