ABSTRACT
Objective To study the results of several operative methods (neurolysis, nerve repair and nerve grafting) for treatment ligated peripheral nerves using rat models. Methods A total 144 rats were randomly assigned to 3 groups:neurolysis group, nerve group grafting group.Ligation sciatic was done first in all animals establish injury model. After 2 weeks,a second surgery carried out treat lesion.Neurolysis, nerve or according assignment. The sacrificed at postoperative week 1,2,4,6,8,10 12 respectively.Weight gastrocnemius muscle measured myelinated ftber cotmt evaluated. Results analyzed statisticafly make comparison among groups. Results Gastrocnemius weight recovered after weeks single ligation control which no out.Muscle fiber count, however, did not show obvious increase double where multiple lesion created but treated. In neurolysis group,4 6 procedure, gastrocnemius count experimental side significantly higher than those contralateral side.In group,at that side, whereas different. In group, gastrocnemius veight procedure, while signfificantly better weeks. Conclusion For induced stenosis nerve, surgical intervention should be considered proactively if there is improvement conservative treatment.Neurolysis would lead recommended procedure. The are certain. Thus this procedure chosen with caution. For wide range nerve, resection area choice.
