Clinical effect and safety of 125I particle stent on treatment of postoperative esophageal stricture for patients with advanced esophageal cancer

Objective To investigate clinical effect and safety of the 125I particle stent for treatment postoperative esophageal stricture on patients with advanced cancer.Methods Sixty after cancer operation were randomly assigned to receive a conventional self-expanding (control group) or loaded seeds (irradiation group).After implantation,the outcomes compared in terms success rate implantation,relief dysphagia,survival time,and complications related procedure.Dysphagia was grade 0-4.The t test x2 used make statistical analysis.Results The stents placement two groups 100％ (30/30).The results preoperative dysphagia score showed that control group 0,1,2,3,4 degree 0,2,3,22 3 ; radiation 0,2,2,23 patients; 1 week,the turned 1,17,6,6 0 patients,the 4,21,3,2 difference between 2 not statistically significant (x2 =1.214,P =0.675) months,the above 25,3,2,0,0; 27,2,1,0,0,the =1.043,P =0.894).Followed up 6 months,1 patient gastrointestinal bleeding,4 pain 8 restenosis occurred group,corresponding irradiated 0,5,and respectively,the incidence lower than group,and =4.384,P =0.036).After follow-up 18 months,10 survival among 30 group,the live time 20 dead 14 months,control patients,10 deaths from average value (4.8± 1.7)months there 15 irradiation 4 months,and (9.8 ± 2.9) months.By end follow-up,the all longer (t =8.917,P =0.002).Conclusion In cancer,stent has potential benefit it allows relief time.
