ABSTRACT
Objective To explore the validity of graduated compression stockings (GCS) in prevention deep vein thrombosis (DVT) postoperative patients with central nervous system tumors. Methods Patients experimental group (n=100) were given GCS since first operative day until they can walk. control (n=80) did not apply treatment. Doppler studies lower extremities routinely obtained before and 3 days after surgery. Results Three developed DVT an incidence rate 3%; while 21 appeared 26% 1 patient pulmonary embolism.
