Gender and burden differences in family caregivers of patients affected by ten rare diseases.

ABSTRACT
Gender differences in caregiving may determine social and/or health inequalities among family caregivers (FCs). This study aimed to analyse gender specific of burden and quality life (QoL) FCs belonging ten different rare diseases (RD).Burden levels QoL data, derived from a sample 210 RD patients, were analysed by student t-test, Anova Kruskal-Wallis followed multiple comparisons evaluation factors, including sex, correlation regression analyses.FCs caring for Prader Willi, X-fragile, mucopolysaccharidosis epidermolysis bullosa patients showed significant higher as compared other RDs. Burden is related FC's can be down modulated the reduction number hours/week devoted care improvement patient's QoL. No gender-specific observed all FCs. However, female more numerous than men perceived emotional/physical poorer psychological males. Women, who are frequently early retired work, not occupied or homemakers men, suffered same conditions.This caregiving, which important planning personalized prevention policies.
