Polymer nanocomposite films based on poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) incorporated with different amounts of copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles were prepared by the solution casting technique. The PVP/CuO nanocomposites analyzed X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy, UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy and dielectric spectroscopy. XRD analysis showed that monoclinic structure cupric was maintained in PVP host matrix. key optical parameters, such as energy gap E

The effects of electron beam irradiation on the properties ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM)/butyl rubber composites in presence a polyfunctional were investigated by means differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal analysis, microscopy (SEM), attenuated total reflection absorption infrared spectroscopy (ATR-IR), and mechanical surface energy measurements. samples exposed over wide range doses (20⁻150 kGy). EPDM matrix was modified with butyl rubber, chlorobutyl bromobutyl...

The equilibrium constants for complexation of C60 with poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) in water have been determined by UV−visible spectroscopy. magnitude the was found to describe formation a charge-transfer (CT) saturated 1:1 complex [PVP] = 2.62−5.25 × 10-2 M (K 1331.3 M-1), and contact-pairs 7.0−12.25 20.64 M-1). These results indicate that binding affinity drug receptors, base pairs double-stranded DNA, or AT-rich segments its minor groove form CT complexes is limited strong coordination...

Novel polythioetherimides bearing azobenzene moieties were synthesized from azobismaleimides and bis-2-mercaptoethylether. Kinetics of trans-cis photoisomerization thermal conversion cis to trans isomeric forms investigated in both polymer solution poly(methyl methacrylate) doped films using electronic absorption spectroscopy. Thermal recovery kinetics is well described by a two-exponential relation matrix, while that low molecular weight azobismaleimide fit first-order equation. The...
