One of the main hypotheses for species causing observed health effects ambient particulate matter is peroxides and other reactive oxygen (ROS). However, there currently very little data available on concentrations particle-bound ROS or their behavior in different physical locations seasons. The were determined various size fractions aerosol, ranging from 10 nm to 18 μ m, Flushing, New York during period January early February 2004. Sampling was carried out at 3-hour intervals using a MOUDI™...
We use P wave and S arrivals from microseismic earthquakes to construct 3‐D tomographic V p s images of the magma storage region beneath Askja's central volcano in Northern Volcanic Zone Iceland. A distinctive ellipsoidal low‐velocity anomaly, with both velocities 8‐12% below background, is imaged at 6‐11 km depth caldera. The presence a shallow chamber corroborated by geodetic gravity studies. small / anomaly suggests lack pervasive melt. interpret this as multiple sills, some frozen but...
Article Abstract Objective: Compare the accuracy, agreement, internal consistency, and interrater reliability of 3 interviews to assess suicidal ideation behavior in accordance with US Food Drug Administration guidance about reporting categories. Method: Adults admitted a psychiatric inpatient unit (N = 199) completed assessments past month lifetime behavior—the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS), Tracking (STS), Sheehan Suicidality (S-STS)—in randomized, counterbalanced order....
This study describes mental health problems and needs among a sample of college students from the United States studying abroad in Italy. Overall, surveyed had relatively low clinical diagnostic thresholds for psychological distress. Individual symptoms were more prevalent included difficulty sleeping, eating (poor appetite or overeating), irritability, anxiety. Findings this offer recommendations professionals to screen, monitor, engage about their well-being while abroad.
Background Homeless veterans often have addictions and comorbidities that complicate utilization of longitudinal health care services, such as primary care. An understanding experiences enrolled in a Patient Aligned Care Team (H-PACT) may improve addiction treatment engagement these settings. The authors aimed to describe H-PACT veterans’ with substance use (SU), recovery (SUR), (SUT). Methods were recruited from veteran medical home clinic between September 2014 March 2015. Twenty given...
Italy is a top destination for U.S. college students studying abroad. Both international and local Italian media outlets, such as city newspapers, have cited the discordance between cultural norms students' drinking behaviors. Hazardous alcohol consumption abroad, binge drinking, can result in individual- (e.g., physical injury) social- promotion of negative stereotypes) level adverse consequences. We assessed prevalence hazardous use recent sample abroad (n = 111). We evaluated associations...
Abstract Objective Molecular subtyping of non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is critical in the diagnostic evaluation patients with advanced disease. This study aimed to examine whether samples from endobronchial ultrasound transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS‐TBNA) intrathoracic lymph nodes and/or lesions are adequate for molecular analysis across various institutions. Methods We retrospectively reviewed all cases linear EBUS‐TBNA a final bronchoscopic diagnosis NSCLC entered Stather...
Screening and brief intervention counseling for unhealthy alcohol use are among the top 10 recommended clinical preventive services US adults. Although federally funded training programs in screening, intervention, referral to treatment (SBIRT) have focused on increasing physicians' professional readiness address drinking with their patients, typically focus knowledge skill acquisition, less attention attitudinal change. The purpose of this study was assess impact a multicomponent SBIRT...
This study examined associations among military experience, alcohol use, and alcohol-related consequences a large national sample of 27,249 students pursuing postsecondary education. Because the uniqueness developmental period emerging adulthood, we stratified all analyses by age groups 18–24 25 older. There were no differences between with without service history in terms 3 indicators use: consumption last 30 days, binge drinking 2 weeks, driving days. were, however, several self-reported...
Participatory photography research methods have been used to successfully engage and collect in-depth information from individuals whose voices traditionally marginalized in clinical or arenas. However, participatory can introduce unique challenges considerations regarding study design, human subject protections, other regulatory barriers, particularly with vulnerable patient populations highly regulated institutions. Practical guidance on navigating these complex, interrelated...
Summary The magnetic and electromagnetic responses from airborne systems at Tli Kwi Cho, a kimberlite complex in the Northwest Territories, Canada, have received considerable attention over last two decades but complete understanding of causative physical properties is not yet hand. Our analysis distributed among three posters. In first we find 3D susceptibility model for area; second conductivity model; third chargeability that can explain negative transient measured pipes. this paper focus...
Introduction The Stather Canadian Outcomes registry for chest ProcedurEs (SCOPE registry) is a multicentre of procedures. Methods and analysis SCOPE designed as prospective database specific bronchoscopic or other pulmonary Each procedure interest will be associated with module, data capture to evaluate effectiveness procedures on relevant patient outcomes. Participating physicians asked enter all performed in given module. anonymised dataset housed web-based electronic secure database....
As part of a qualitatively-driven mixed-methods study, this analysis aimed to describe Veterans Affairs (VA) Homeless Patient Aligned Care Team patients’ experiences with patient-centered care. participated in audio-recorded, semi-structured photo-elicitation interviews about their health and VA Transcripts were analyzed by two coders using template analysis. In 31/36 interviews, 19/20 participants discussed noted Picker’s Patient-Centered Principles; 1) access care, 2) respect for values,...
The Katmai volcanic group (KVG) within the Alaskan Aleutian arc is an unusually dense of active centres (Mounts Martin, Mageik, Trident, Katmai, Griggs, Snowy, and Novarupta). KVG was locus largest eruption 20th century. During 1912 eruption, rhyolite erupted from a new vent (Novarupta) contemporaneous with collapse nearby Mount (10 km away). A hydraulic connection has been hypothesized between two vents based on above observation small volume juvenile andesitic magma geochemical signature...
Photo-elicitation interviewing (PEI) seems a valuable tool for engaging marginalized populations in research despite documented challenges. Given limited data on acceptability of PEI among homeless and marginally housed Veterans, this evaluation aimed to characterize their experience. Veterans took photographs about health, health behaviors, care which facilitated semi-structured interviews. Their study experience was assessed via modified Reactions Research Participation...
As part of a photo-elicitation interview study, we aimed to describe homeless and marginally housed Veterans’ experiences with health wellness, decisions, health-related behaviors. Twenty Veterans receiving Affairs Homeless Patient-Aligned Care Team care took photographs depicting then used their discuss the same topics in 30-60 minute audio-recorded, semi-structured interviews. Transcripts were analyzed using template analysis. described eight dimensions related wellness; physical, social,...
ABSTRACT Background There is a high risk for adverse outcomes in immunocompromised, neutropenic pediatric oncology patients with fever if antibiotics are not received timely manner. As the absolute neutrophil count typically unknown at onset of fever, rapid antibiotic administration all and suspected neutropenia critical. Local Problem Despite efforts over years to meet standard time-to-antibiotic delivery within 60 minutes arrival, audits revealed prolonged wide-ranging time-to-antibiotics...

Developments in multi-channel instrumentation systems and computational resources have made the collection of large, non-conventional DC resistivity datasets commonplace. Although these large can greatly improve resolution recovered inverse models, they present challenges for standard data quality control (QC) methodologies. These limitations prompted us to develop a generalized QC methodology which utilizes statistical analysis classification tools identify inconsistent noise contaminated...
