Detecting elevated intracranial pressure in children with subacute conditions, such as craniosynostosis or tumor, may enable timely intervention and prevent neurocognitive impairment, but conventional techniques are invasive often equivocal. Elevated leads to structural changes the peripapillary retina. Spectral-domain (SD) optical coherence tomography (OCT) can noninvasively quantify retinal layers a micron-level resolution. To evaluate whether measurements from OCT serve an effective...

Over the last two decades, prevalence of myopia has gradually increased in China. Numerous epidemiological studies suggest that education and inadequate time spent outdoors are major causes current epidemic. China is one few countries begun to address epidemic with a national-level strategy, implementing nationwide reform, cost-reduction measurements, dissemination information on prevention control. These "natural experiments" will provide insights into areas may face similar or potential problems.

Abstract Purpose The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between macular sensitivity (MS) and posterior staphyloma (PS) in highly myopic eyes. Methods This cross‐sectional, observational included 646 eyes (spherical equivalent (SE) ≤−5.00D international meta‐analysis for pathologic myopia classification grade <2) from 362 participants. MS measured using microperimetry evaluated with without PS. Correlations PS were determined multivariate regression models. Results...

Abstract Reduced time outdoors is an important factor promoting the development of myopia. The spatial frequency spectra man-made indoor and outdoor environments, which are impoverished in high frequencies (HSF), may be a contributor to human myopia development. This randomized clinical trial aimed investigate whether HSF enhancing classroom-- scene classroom (OSC) can arrest children. Here we showed OSC was protective slowing down myopic shift among children who were not at baseline....

Central sterile supply department (CSSD) is an important in the hospital. It can ensure successful sterilization and nosocomial infection control. CSSD staff are often interrupted during cleaning, disinfection, packaging, distribution. This study investigated nursing interruptions CSSDs China, aiming to understand current situations demands of training on interruptions. also examined whether there were differences among nurses with different characteristics, so as provide a reference for...

Purpose To assess the prevalence and risk factors of myopic macular degeneration (MMD) in young middle-aged individuals with high myopia Changsha, central China. Methods A total 445 adults (worse than or equal to −5.0 D) were examined between 2021 2023. Autorefraction biometry using IOLMaster conducted, fundus photos graded for MMD Meta-PM criteria. was diagnosed if category 2, 3, 4 any plus lesion present. In this article, we propose a regression method for simultaneous supervised clustering and feature selection over given undirected graph, where homogeneous groups or clusters are estimated as well informative predictors, with each predictor corresponding to one node in the graph connecting path indicating priori possible grouping among predictors. The seeks parsimonious model high predictive power through identifying collapsing of coefficients. To address computational challenges, present an...
