ABSTRACT Invasive aspergillosis remains a major cause of death among the immunocompromised population and those receiving long-term immunosuppressive therapy. In light increased azole resistance, variable outcomes with existing echinocandin monotherapy combination therapy, persistent high mortality rates, new antifungal agents for treatment invasive are clearly needed. SCY-078 is first-in-class triterpenoid antifungal, novel class glucan synthase inhibitors broad in vitro vivo activity...

Ibrexafungerp (IBX) (formerly SCY-078) is a novel glucan synthase inhibitor whose oral availability being evaluated for efficacy against vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). Bioavailability and in vitro activity are important indicators, but accepted susceptibility methods do not always accurately predict an acidic environment, such as the vagina.

Abstract BACKGROUND: A state diagram presents different physical states of a biomaterial as function solid content and temperature. Despite their technological interest, little information is available on protein systems such gelatin/water mixtures. The objective this work was to develop diagrams salmon gelatin (SG) bovine (BG) in order determine maximal freeze concentration parameters ( T ′ g , m X s′ ) relate possible differences biochemical characteristics. RESULTS: Biochemical...

Candida auris has been shown to have a high risk of skin colonization in hospitalized patients, possibly contributing nosocomial spread. In guinea pig model, animals were evaluated for clinical appearance, tissue fungal burden, histology, and pharmacokinetics. Oral dosing with 10 mg/kg ibrexafungerp (IBX) reduced the severity lesions significantly C. burden infected compared untreated controls. This indicates promise use IBX controlling infection patients.

One of the main components for being successful in tissue engineering is developing a scaffold with an appropriate architecture allow migration, cell proliferation, and differentiation. A gelatin-chitosan by vacuum freeze-drying has been developed applications. The effects solid concentration freezing processing on morphology porous size were investigated. As chitosan content was increased viscoelastic properties pigskin gelatin modified, maximum G' values lower than pure solution, thermal...

Ibrexafungerp (formerly SCY-078), a novel glucan synthase inhibitor with oral availability, was evaluated for activity against Candida glabrata Susceptibility of clinical strains to determined by microdilution and time kill assays. The MIC range wild type 1-2 μg/mL. IBX also active the majority echinocandin-resistant strains. Time studies showed 4 6-log reduction in growth at concentrations 0.25 μg/ml 24 48 hr.

Chicken meat presents serious problems of processing and storage. Edible coatings are used commercially to improve the shelf life fresh foods. The aim this study is develop an effective antimicrobial edible coating safety chicken meat. effect propionic acid thyme essential oils as antioxidant compounds incorporated into alginate-based was evaluated. Physical, sensorial analyses were performed in coated uncoated samples. Sensorial analysis showed no significant differences between samples,...

Information looking at the interaction mechanism of chitosan–gelatin is scarce. The objective this work was to analyze interactions between chitosan and bovine (BG) salmon gelatins using a chemometrics approach based on multivariate statistical analysis, partial least square regression (PLSR), with data collected from amino acid profiling differential scanning calorimetry.

Worldwide meat consumption and production have nearly quintupled in the last 60 years. In this context, research application of new technologies related to animal reproduction evolved an accelerated way. The objective present study was apply nanoemulsions (NEs) as carriers lipids feed bovine embryos culture media verify their impact on development produced vitro. NEs were characterized by particle size, polydispersity, size distribution, physical stability, morphology using atomic force...
