Muscle wasting, prevalent in maintenance hemodialysis (HD) patients diagnosed with protein-energy represents an assessment challenge the outpatient HD setting. Quadriceps muscle thickness (QMT) and cross-sectional area (CSA) by ultrasound (US) is a potential surrogate measure for wasting. We aimed to determine validity of US QMT CSA against gold standard-computed tomography (CT).Twenty-six on underwent CT scans same day, postdialysis session. rectus femoris (RF) vastus intermedius (VI)...
Voxel-based dosimetry is potentially accurate than organ-based because it considers the anatomical variations in each individual and heterogeneous radioactivity distribution organ. Here, voxel-based for 177 Lu-DOTATATE therapy was performed using single multiple voxel S-value (VSV) methods compared with Monte Carlo simulations. To verify these methods, we adopted sequential single-photon emission computed tomography X-ray (SPECT/CT) dataset acquired from Sunway Medical Centre major vendor's...
Abstract Recent case reports and series have demonstrated the usefulness of 68 Ga/ 18 F-PSMA PET/CT in restaging recurrent renal cancer after nephrectomy. We presented a patient with mass who had undergone both F-FDG Ga-PSMA for diagnosis staging. Concordant tracer uptake primary tumor metastatic lesions was by radiotracers. Final histopathological revealed clear cell carcinoma. Furthermore, unusual left metacarpal bone metastasis also detected.
A 17-year-old adolescent boy with biochemically raised 2-hour urinary metanephrine and normetanephrine as well CT findings of retroperitoneal soft tissue mass bony metastases was referred for further assessment. Apart from Ga DOTATATE PET/CT evaluation, pretargeted systemic radionuclide therapy assessment I-MIBG scintigraphy showed unusual phenomenon MIBG superscan. Postsurgically, restaging Tc-MDP bone typical superscan features. The better delineated on post-I-MIBG images.
The present study aimed to evaluate the role of pre-therapeutic (18)fluorine-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography ((18)F-FDG PET-CT) and maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) in guiding treatment strategy predicting prognosis esophageal carcinoma, using survival data patients. The retrospective, cohort was performed on 40 consecutive patients with carcinoma (confirmed by endoscopic biopsy), who underwent pre-operative (18)F-FDG PET-CT staging between...
We described a case of 51-year-old female patient presented with right calf necrotising fasciitis (NF) where osteomyelitis (OM) was suspected. (99m)Tc-hydroxymethane diphosphonate three-phase bone scintigraphy and (99m)Tc-besilosomab scan failed to demonstrate classical features OM. The final diagnosis only made by isolating Acinetobacter sp. in both intra-operative tissue cultures from below-knee amputation. As conclusions, the detection lower limb OM is not easy when there concurrence...
Deformable registration is required to generate a time-integrated activity (TIA) map which essential for voxel-based dosimetry. The conventional iterative algorithm using anatomical images (e.g., computed tomography (CT)) could result in errors functional single photon emission (SPECT) or positron (PET)). Various deep learning-based tools have been proposed, but studies specifically focused on the of serial hybrid were not found.
A 47-year-old man with newly diagnosed nasopharyngeal carcinoma underwent staging F-FDG PET/CT. Apart from showing increased FDG uptake in the primary site and locoregional nodal liver metastases, an unusual of intense focus was demonstrated left adrenal gland. He CT-guided biopsy, histopathologic diagnosis benign fibrous histiocytoma.
Primary squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the trachea is rare. Here, we presented a rare case primary SCC arising 4 years after radioiodine (RAI) treatment papillary thyroid. In this case, concomitant uptake I-RAI and F-FDG was demonstrated in thyroidal mass with tracheal invasion, which mimicked mixed well-differentiated dedifferentiated thyroid carcinoma. The diagnosis made only biopsy. This illustrates that FDG-avid bed lesion, presence carcinoma, may not necessarily be related to pathology.
