Previous work demonstrated the existence of phosphatidylinositol kinase and phosphate in rat liver nuclei, with suggestion that these activities are nuclear membrane [Smith & Wells (1983) J. Biol. Chem. 258, 9368-9373]. Here we show highly purified nuclei from Friend cells, washed free by Triton, can incorporate radiolabel [gamma-32P]ATP into phosphatidic acid, 4,5-bisphosphate. The degree radiolabelling bisphosphate is dependent on state differentiation being barely detectable growing...
The effects of noise on students’ health, well-being, and learning are growing concern among both the general public policy-makers in Europe. Several studies have highlighted consequences children’s performance at school. This study investigates relationship between judgment school goers aged 11–18 measurements aimed evaluating their exposure For this purpose, a questionnaire was administered to 521 individuals 28 classrooms eight schools four cities Italy, with different environmental...
The presence of phospholipids within the interphase nucleus and in isolated chromatin, previously demonstrated by analytical biochemical methods, has been only rarely documented cytochemical procedures, especially at ultrastructural level. By means a gold-conjugated phospholipase technique, we investigated fine localization endogenous different nuclear domains rat pancreas cell cultures. To reduce possible removal or displacement phospholipids, specimen preparation procedures such as...
The present report describes the effect of 50 to 2500 rad /sup 60/Co gamma rays on membrane receptors B and T lymphocytes. Surface immunoglobulins Fc were used as markers for cells, while formation rosettes with sheep red blood cells was a marker cells. radiation is expressed percentage viable that bear receptors. effects studied after 2, 24, 36 hr culture. For lymphocytes no reduction in SmIg seen 2 radiation, whereas dose-related observed 24 hr. A inhibition ''capping'' observed. E rosette...
The effect of phospholipid vesicles on chromatin structure, protein composition and globin RNA synthesis has been analysed in nuclei isolated from murine erythroleukemia cells. In terms organisation, PC with neutral surface charge do not affect the structure fibres, whereas negatively charged PS induce decondensation to a great extent. Indeed fibres appear uniformly dispersed lacking also perinucleolar heterochromatin. These morphological features are accompanied by depletion lysine‐rich...
Among the social practices that world of advertising draws upon in order to convey its message, science is used convince target audience effectiveness product it promoting. The study presence and use encourage consumer spending provides information on public perception itself. present work analyzes these aspects with reference Italian press. A quantitative was carried out a sample daily, weekly monthly publications throughout 2002 2003, using coding frame enabled identification frequency...
Abstract Cortical and medullary lymphocytes from the chicken bursa of Fabricius were examined for their DNA content [ 3 H]thymidine incorporation. The kinetics latter is different both cell types, while chemical cytophotometric tests showed cortical to contain more DNA. In addition, immunofluorescent detection membrane‐bound immunoglobulins demonstrated that most cells are B lymphocytes. Therefore, cortex medulla appear be distinct compartments bursal follicle, being a zone continuous...
A flow cytofluorimetric method was used to detect the immunoglobulin molecules present on human red blood cells. Normal erythrocytes were separated into seven fractions of increasing mean age by density centrifugation discontinuous gradients. Some biochemical and morphological properties these cells determined as well their IgG content. The results obtained suggest that binding during cell aging is a cumulative process.
