Exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation (EBCR) is part of the management patients who have suffered an acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Patients with a reduced ejection fraction (EF) comprise higher-risk subgroup and are referred less often for these programmes. This study aimed at assessing impact baseline EF on functional benefits, as assessed by peak oxygen uptake (pVO2) exercise duration, EBCR programme in AMI survivors.Observational, retrospective cohort including all admitted to...

Exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation (EBCR) plays a pivotal role in the management of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Studies have shown that older individuals worse prognosis after an AMI, attesting to importance risk reduction strategies. We aimed at assessing impact age (patients dichotomized as ≥65 years old or <65 old) on functional benefits EBCR program among AMI survivors.Observational, retrospective cohort study. All patients admitted due who completed phase II discharge, between...

As short-term mortality continues to decrease after myocardial infarction (MI), secondary prevention strategies attain increasing relevance. This study aimed at assessing the control of cardiovascular (CV) risk factors, including dyslipidemia, hypertension and diabetes, in a contemporary cohort MI survivors who completed an exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation (EBCR) program. Observational, retrospective patients admitted tertiary center with acute between November 2012 April 2017, phase II...

Suberosis is an occupational lung disorder of cork industry workers usually presenting as extrinsic allergic alveolitis, but airway involvement in some cases makes the diagnostic approach complex. We assessed peak expiratory flow rates (PEF) 17 with asthma symptoms that worsened at work, comparing three methods PEF graph analysis. Complete agreement (three observers) was found 12 (70.6%) visual inspection mean daily values and 11 (64.7%) minimum, maximum, (without any consensus two cases)....

Exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation (EBCR) is paramount after an acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Older individuals have been reported as having a worse prognosis AMI, and some series differences in the functional response to EBCR. The peak circulatory power (CP), non-invasive parameter, has described surrogate for power, showing promising results comprehensive measure of cardiovascular response. Whilst this, data concerning impact EBCR on CP, particularly among elderly individuals,...

Abstract Depression and stress have been related with poor Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) prognosis. However, it is not clear when these depressive symptoms should be measured. A sample 177 Coronary Heart Disease patients were followed for 15 months aimed to compare the effect depression measure at time hospitalization three later on physical HRQoL trajectory. Linear growth models’ results showed that after discharge are negatively correlated affect prognosis patients.
