Summary A fundamental issue in applied multivariate extreme value analysis is modelling dependence within joint tail regions. The primary focus of this work to extend the classical pseudopolar treatment extremes develop an asymptotically motivated representation extremal that also encompasses asymptotic independence. Starting with usual mild bivariate regular variation assumptions underpin coefficient as a measure dependence, our main result characterization limiting structure survivor...

We review the current state of statistical modeling asymptotically independent data. Our discussion includes necessary and sufficient conditions for asymptotic independence, results on independence statistics interest, estimation inference issues, joint tail modeling, conditional approaches. For each these topics we give an account existing approaches relevant methods data analysis applications.

An alternative limiting point process to that of de Haan (1985 , L. ( 1985 ). Extremes in higher dimensions: the model and some statistics. Proc. 45th Sess. Int. Statist. Inst. Paper 26.3. We characterize its intensity function terms coefficient tail dependence an angular measure which satisfies a normalisation...

We report a case of 55-year-old male with history methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus bacteremia whose initial transesophageal echocardiography revealed cardiac mass attached to the right atrium. Because uncommon location mass, 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose-PET was used confirm diagnosis infective endocarditis.
