Abstract The physic nut ( J atropha curcas L .) is a multipurpose and oil‐producing shrub of C entral S outh A merican origin. Since the 15th century, this has existed across tropical regions. Despite its presumed resistance to herbivores, reports show that arthropod herbivores infest it. However, no comprehensive account which consume nut, exists. Here, we conducted literature review provides nut. Based on co‐evolutionary hypothesis, expected find higher herbivore species richness larger...
We investigated the physiological and growth responses of Jatropha curcas (L.) seedlings to simulated herbivory stress at different levels drought in experimental greenhouse conditions. Simulated had an effect on photosystem II (PSII) yield seedlings. The highest decrease mean PSII (63 %) was recorded grown under severe (200 mm yr−1) whereas a moderate (25 showed positive effects well-watered conditions (1,900 yr−1). Stem water content, stem dry biomass root–shoot ratio (with or without...
