This paper investigates fracture toughness and subcritical crack growth of marble, lherzolite, amphibolite under different environments aiming to better understand the effect environment, especially acidic solution, on fracturing behavior three rocks. Specifically, a series load relaxation (RLX) rapid loading tests were performed double-torsion (DT) specimens velocity V versus stress intensity factor KI relation evaluate KIC for studied rocks in air, distilled water, solutions with pH 6.0...

To better understand the shear behavior of infilled rock joints with standard joint roughness coefficient (JRC) profiles, direct experiments are performed on sand and clay prepared by reproducing JRC profiles a rock-like material placing infill inside joint. The results show that strength affected JRC, type, thickness to asperity amplitude (t/a) ratio, applied normal stress. For most joints, stress versus displacement curve shows residual value close peak no softening phase. pure compression...

A number of previous studies have examined music-related plasticity in terms multi-sensory and motor integration but little is known about the functional effective connectivity patterns spontaneous intrinsic activity these systems during resting state musicians. Using Granger causal analysis, among (visual, auditory somatosensory) cortices were evaluated using resting-state magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) musicians non-musicians. The results revealed that was significantly increased...

The shear behavior of backfill-rock composites is crucial for mine safety and the management surface subsidence. For exposing failure mechanism composites, we conducted tests on under three constant normal loads, compared with unfilled rock. To investigate macro- meso-failure characteristics samples in tests, cracking was recorded by a high-speed camera acoustic emission monitoring. In parallel experimental test, numerical models rock were established using discrete element method to analyze...

Abstract Spodumene and petalite are the primary minerals mined from pegmatites, most important sources of hard-rock Li resources. In Li-mineralized subsolidus reaction → spodumene + 2quartz (1) its reverse reaction: (2) produce secondary spodumene, usually in form quartz intergrowths (SQI), petalite, respectively. The pressure-temperature (P–T) conditions under which these reactions occur have been investigated using quenching-type equipment (e.g., cold-seal pressure vessels). However,...
