Combined with very-long-baseline interferometry measurements, the observations of fast TeV gamma-ray flares probe structure and emission mechanism blazar jets. However, only a handful such have been detected to date, within last few years these observed from lower-frequency-peaked BL~Lac objects flat-spectrum radio quasars.
