A novel visible-light-induced cascade reaction for the preparation of ester-functionalized polyheterocycles was developed under metal-free conditions, which initiated by an intermolecular radical addition to a carbon–carbon double bond N-arylacrylamide derivatives using alkyl carbazate as ester source followed cyano-mediated cyclization. The desired phenanthridine derivative products were isolated in moderate high yields with broad substrate scope.

Long-acting neuromuscular blocks followed by rapid reversal may provide prolonged surgeries with improved conditions omitting repetitive or continuous administration of the blocking agent (NMBA), eliminating residual block and minimizing postoperative recovery, which, however, is not clinically available. Here, we demonstrate that imidazolium-based macrocycles (IMCs) acyclic cucurbit[

The development of a reversal agent that can rapidly reverse clinically used nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs) has long been challenge. Here, we report the synthesis series highly water-soluble acyclic cucurbit[

Cyanomethylated coumarins were synthesized via cyanomethylation and cyclization of aryl alkynoates using cheap available reagent acetonitrile as the cyanomethyl source in presence TBPB (tert-butyl peroxybenzoate) under transition-metal-free conditions. For substrates with various substituents on benzene ring, reaction proceeded smoothly to give corresponding products moderate good yields. The resulting could be simply converted into some other related coumarin derivatives.

Here, we present a versatile modular strategy for crafting novel covalent organic cages (para-cage[n]arenes and meta-cage[n]arenes, n = 3,4) bimacrocycles (meta-bimacrocyclic-arenes) with stable backbones modifiable rims. These structures can be synthesized from commercially available aromatic multialdehydes in three-step process: quantitative bromination, Suzuki–Miyaura reaction (yielding over 60%), rapid one-pot Friedel–Crafts paraformaldehyde. Notably, the cage[n]arenes exhibit...

Abstract i‐Corona[3]arene[3]tetrazines were synthesized from the nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction of resorcinol and its derivatives with 3,6‐dichlorotetrazine in a one‐pot fashion under mild conditions. All resulting macrocycles adopted 1,3,5‐alternate conformation irrespective nature substituents on both upper‐ lower‐rims. i‐Corona[3]arene[3]tetrazine was found to self‐regulate macrocyclic cavity recognize anions binding constants spanning 26 M −1 2.2×10 3 depending structure...

Heterocyclic derivatives 4-(nitromethyl)isoquinoline-1,3(2H,4H)-diones were synthesized via a tandem nitration/cyclization reaction of N-alkyl-N-methacryloyl benzamides under metal-free conditions. The cheap and available reagent nitrogen dioxide was used as the nitro source, well oxidant. For substrates with various substituent groups, proceeded smoothly to give corresponding isoquinolinedione in moderate good yields. products could be converted into aminomethyl or hydroxyl substituted...

[1n]Paracyclophane has been known for nearly 40 years, but its derivatives and properties are understudied in comparison to those of other macrocyclic compounds. By the modification pillar[5]arene, we successfully obtained five electron-rich pentagonal macrocycles (pseudo[n]-pillar[5]arenes, n = 1–4) with decrease substituted phenylenes one after another, achieving partial derivatization [15]paracyclophane skeleton at phenylene sites. Pseudo[n]-pillar[5]arenes (P[n]P[5]s) served as a kind...
