We report on the experimental realization of a robust and efficient magneto-optical trap for erbium atoms, based narrow cooling transition at 583nm. observe up to $N=2 \times 10^{8}$ atoms temperature about $T=15 \mu K$. This simple scheme provides better starting conditions direct loading dipole traps as compared approaches strong alone, or combination kHz transition. Our results Er point general, approach laser cool samples other lanthanide (Ho, Dy, Tm) production quantum-degenerate samples.

We review the features of charge density wave (CDW) conductor $\mathrm{Nb}{\mathrm{S}}_{3}$ (phase II) and include several additional results from transport, compositional, structural studies.
