Antibiotic pollution causes serious environmental and social issues. China is the largest antibiotic producer user in world, with a large share of antibiotics used agriculture. This study quantified agricultural emissions mainland 2014 as well critical drivers global supply chains. Results show that China's agriculture discharged 4131 tons antibiotics. Critical domestic chain are mainly located Central China, North East China. Foreign final demand contributes 9% leads to 5–40% each province....

The electronic coordination configuration of metal active sites and the reaction mechanism were investigated by constructing homo-diatomic Fe for visible-light-assisted heterogeneous peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation. A novel Fe2N6 catalyst was synthesized selecting uniform pyridinic-N graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) as anchoring sites. results demonstrated that modulated d-band center electron delocalization thus enhanced PMS activation kinetics (3.58 times vs single-atom catalyst) with...

Abstract A novel high refractive index and highly transparent silicone resin‐type material for the packaging of high‐power light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) is introduced, which was synthesized by hydrosilylation vinyl end‐capped methylphenyl resin hydrosilicone oil catalyzed Karstedt's catalyst. The resins were prepared hydrolysis−polycondensation method from diethoxysilane (MePhSi(OEt) 2 ), phenyl triethoxysilane (PhSi(OEt) 3 dimethylethoxy silane (Me ViSiOEt) in toluene/water mixture...

Abstract BACKGROUND: Over the last few decades, emphasis in studies on extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) has been extraction and quantitative analysis methods relating to activated sludge. However, little is currently known about relationship between EPS microbial activity cell hydrophobicity heterogeneous biofilms. This paper aims reveal them. RESULTS: Experimental results indicated that content components varied with depth aerobic biofilter. Protein was main component of at all...

Porous carbon materials derived from waste biomass are promising adsorbents for volatile organic compounds. However, it is still difficult to achieve optimal control of the pore structure. In this study, a nitrogen-doped porous (NPC) material with ultra-high surface area (3235 m2/g) and ultra-large volume (2.00 cm3/g) was prepared. The adsorption capacity toluene on NPC (691.1 mg/g, 1000 ppm, 303 K) significantly higher than previous studies. addition, correlations between capacity, as well...

To study the physiology and metabolism of microbial cells in performance fuel (MFCs).A dual-chamber MFCs was constructed, Rhodoferax ferrireducens used as biocatalyst. examine MFCs, anode media containing planktonic replaced with fresh which KH(2)PO(4) and/or NH(4)Cl were excluded. The replacing excluded made coulombic yield remarkably increased by a factor 68% (from 29.1 to 46.8C). results showed that electricity could be generated biofilms biocatalyst, improved limiting cell growth via...

This study investigated the inhibition effects of sulfate on ferrous ion-activated persulfate oxidation azo dye reactive brilliant red X-3B. The experimental results showed that degradation efficiency X-3B decreased from 100% to 63% in 60 min when initial concentration increased 0 3 g/L. ferrous/persulfate molar ratio had remarkable influence capability presence sulfate. SO42− could coordinate with Fe2+ and Fe3+ generating FeSO4 ion pairs as well FeSO4+ or Fe(SO4)2− complexes, which were...

Modifying the surface functional groups of materials for peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation emerging contaminants' degradation has come under spotlight, and exploring relationship between terminal groups' loss-causing defective sites formation reactive species is still challengeable. In this work, an asymmetric interface derived from edge-rich Ti3C2Tx (ERDT) exposing unsaturated coordinated active titanium atoms was explored by mechanochemical treatment. The stepped cross-section structure...
