A highly enantioselective (S) diphenylpyrrolinol silyl ether promoted tandem Michael−aldol reaction of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes with 2-mercaptobenzaldehydes has been developed. The method affords one-pot access to chiral and synthetically useful thiochromenes in high yields enantioselectivities from readily available compounds.

For drug delivery in cancer therapy, various stimuli-responsive hydrogel-based micro-devices have been studied with great interest. Here, we present a new concept for hybrid actuated soft microrobot targeted delivery. The proposed consists of hydrogel bilayer structure 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (PHEMA) and poly (ethylene glycol) acrylate (PEGDA) iron (II, III) oxide particles (Fe3O4). PHEMA layer as pH-responsive gel is used trapping unfolding motion the pH-varying solution,...

Quantum dots (QDs)-based molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) composite nanospheres were successfully prepared via a facile and versatile ultrasonication-assisted encapsulation method. Unlike the hydrogen-bond-based MIPs, these so-prepared QDs-MIP nanospheres, relying on interaction including van der Waals forces hydrophobic forces, demonstrated excellent selectivity in aqueous media. Their small particle sizes carboxyl-enriched matrixes give rise to their good dispersibility stability...

Highly enantio- and diastereoselective tandem Michael−aldol reactions, efficiently catalyzed by a cinchona alkaloid thiourea via synergistic noncovalent hydrogen-bonding activation of both the Michael donor acceptor, have been developed. The process affords powerful means for construction versatile chiral thiochromanes with formation three stereogenic centers in one-pot synthesis from simple achiral compounds.
