Herein, we report an effective and simple strategy to greatly improve the photoactivity of CdO nanorods (NRs) by decorating them with CdS. The CdO–CdS heterostructured NRs grown on a FTO substrate exhibited substantially higher visible-light-driven for PEC cell degradation methylene blue (MB) solution compared NRs.

The fabrication of a photodetector and gas sensor based on hierarchical Bi2S3 nanostructures is reported. Single crystalline with [001] growth direction were obtained via facile hydrothermal method without any templates or surfactants. showed steady photoresponses fast response time ∼50 ms. Moreover, these exhibited good sensing to methanol. These results show are promising candidates for constructing optoelectronic devices.

Two new pimarane-type diterpenes, scopararanes H-I (1–2), along with five known ones (3–7) were isolated from the culture broth of a marine sediment-derived fungus Eutypella sp. FS46, which was obtained South China Sea. Their structures established by extensive spectroscopic analysis.
