Our goal was to evaluate results of endovascular aortic arch repair using the Relay Branch system.Forty-three patients with thoracic pathology involving have been treated system (Terumo Aortic, Sunrise, FL, USA) in 10 centres. We assessed in-hospital mortality, neurological injury, treatment success according current reporting standards and need for secondary interventions. In addition, outcome analysed underlying pathology: non-dissective disease versus residual dissection (RAD) (defined as...
To investigate the outcomes of patients who were treated for thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms (TAAAs) using custom-made fenestrated-branched stent-grafts.A consecutive series 108 (mean age 73.5 years; 73 men) with TAAA E-xtra Design Engineering customized stent-grafts between November 2011 and January 2017. Data on baseline characteristics, procedures, clinical follow-up collected from 6 regional European surgical centers retrospective analysis endoleaks, reinterventions, target vessel...
Abstract OBJECTIVES Spinal cord injury is detrimental for patients undergoing open or endovascular thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) repair. The aim of this survey and the modified Delphi consensus was to gather information on current practices standards in neuroprotection TAAA. METHODS Aortic Association conducted an international online neuromonitoring TAAA In a first round expert panel put together different aspects neuromonitoring. Based answers from survey, 18 questions were...
The objective of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety liposomal heparin spray—a new formula topical delivery. This a randomized, multicenter, controlled open clinical trial with 2 parallel groups. Forty-six outpatients signs superficial venous thrombosis (SVT) were treated either spraygel (LHSG) (Lipohep Forte Spraygel, 4 puffs 458 IU tid (n=22) or low-molecular-weight (LMWH) (Clexane 40 mg once day (n=24), administered subcutaneously (sc). Main outcome measures parameters...
Purpose: To report the results of ASCEND Registry cases involving endovascular aneurysm sealing (EVAS) in combination with chimney grafts (chEVAS) for treatment para- and juxtarenal aortic aneurysms (AAA). Methods: A retrospective, multicenter registry established 8 vascular centers between 2013 2016 recorded follow-up chEVAS procedures nonruptured AAAs; data were analyzed using standardized outcome measures. In observation period, 154 patients (mean age 72.3±7.7 years; 124 men) underwent...
Abstract The infection of a vascular prosthesis is potentially fatal, and its effective treatment still remains the greatest challenge for surgeons. We present our initial experience using bovine pericardial prostheses to replace infected aortoiliac grafts. Six consecutive patients with graft were prospectively included in this study. Infection was confirmed by clinical symptoms, laboratory tests results computed tomography positron emission tomography/computed tomography. In all cases,...
Abstract OBJECTIVES To evaluate the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on acute and elective thoracic abdominal aortic procedures. METHODS Forty departments shared their data procedures between January May 2020 in Europe, Asia USA. Admission rates as well delay from onset symptoms to referral were compared. RESULTS No differences number observed reference period [incidence ratio (IRR): 0.96, confidence interval (CI) 0.89–1.04; P = 0.39]. Also, no difference time was...
This study investigated the 2-year safety and effectiveness of PQ Bypass DETOUR system as a percutaneous femoropopliteal bypass.Seventy-eight patients with 82 long-segment lesions were enrolled in this prospective, single-arm, multicenter study. The deployed Torus stent grafts directed through transvenous route. Eligible included those >10 cm average 371±55 mm. Key endpoints major adverse events (MAEs) symptomatic deep venous thrombosis target limb. Effectiveness primary patency defined...
Inherited factor VII (FVII) deficiency is a rare autosomal recessive hemorrhagic disorder. The major clinical symptoms include: bleeding from the oral cavity, epistaxis, menorrhagia, spontaneous hemarthros, to gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system, perioperative bleeding. aim of this study was present our experience in preventing disorders surgical patients with inherited FVII by using recombinant activated FVIIa (rFVIIa), prothrombin complex concentrates (PCCs). In 2002–2011, 17...
Risk of subsequent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) following superficial (SVT) is not fully appreciated. Mechanisms, time relations and risk factors for DVT arising upon earlier SVT remain unclear. The aim this study was to analyze between local symptoms lower limb thrombosis, duplex findings onset during clinically evident course SVT.46 patients with early (onset less than 72 hours prior inclusion) clinical diagnosis SVT, confirmed ultrasonographically were included in prospective, multicenter...
Endovascular aneurysm sealing (EVAS) was commercially introduced in 2013. The initial results of EVAS were positive, leading to its widespread use. mid- and long-term reports showed greater than expected rates migration, which led a recall the device. In present article, we describe our experience managing type Ia endoleaks migration occurring with Nellix system three different ways: open repair explantation, Nellix-in-Nellix application (NINA technique), use multibranched Colt device...
To study the safety and feasibility of E-liac Stent Graft System® in patients with aorto/iliac aneurysms.A prospective multicentric European registry receiving was conducted. Endpoints included technical success as well periprocedural events 30-day endoleaks, reinterventions, internal external iliac artery patency mortality.Between July 2014 June 2016, a total 45 (93% men, mean age 72 years, range 53-90 years) were enrolled at 11 sites four countries. Five received an isolated treatment....
The authors report an intravascular treatment in the case of posttraumatic pseudoaneurysm a stenotic internal carotid artery, using stent graft.
The aim of the study is to present our own perioperative bridging therapy with low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) for surgical patients thrombophilia on long-term acenokumarol [oral anticoagulant (OAC)]. In some European countries, drug used in secondary antithrombotic prophylaxis acenokumarol. Forty-two inherited and 21 antiphospholipid syndrome underwent surgery. All were OAC. This OAC was interrupted 2 days before elective surgery since that day half individual therapeutic dose LMWH...
Andexanet alfa (AA) is a recombinant, inactive analog of human factor Xa (FXa), effectively reversing the effects its inhibitors — rivaroxaban and apixaban, which are available in Poland. The drug was granted registration after publication ANNEXA-4 trial (Andexanet Alfa, Novel Antidote to Anticoagulation Effects FXA Inhibitors 4), efficacy restoring hemostasis life-threatening hemorrhages group patients using aforementioned anticoagulants proven. Hence, AA now recommended for receiving...
Osteolysis of vertebrae due to inflammatory aortic aneurysm is rarely observed. However, it estimated that up 10 % infectious aneurysms coexist with bone tissue destruction, most commonly the vertebrae. Inflammatory no identified infection factor, along infiltration adjacent muscle and in particular extensive destruction have been described literature. A case posterior wall rupture iliopsoas spine, together vertebral body presented. The was successfully treated endovascular repair EVAR.
We present a case of 58-year old female patient that underwent surgery at Department General and Vascular Surgery, Voivodeship Hospital Traumatic Surgery in Warsaw for abdominal pain nausea palpable mass located the left mesogastric region. During surgical procedure, numerous, large nodules small intestine mesentery greater omentum were found. Histopathological examination demonstrated they melanoma metastases. When we confronted reported with available literature, found only few similar reports.
