Abstract Aluminum matrix composites (AMCs), incorporating Zirconium Nitride (ZrN) as reinforcing additives, demonstrate immense promise for applications in aerospace, automotive, and power generation due to their unique combination of low density, superior mechanical properties, excellent thermal/electrical conductivity. This study explores the influence ZrN reinforcement on microstructure properties AlSi10Mg metal-matrix composites. Utilizing high-energy ball milling (HEBM) spark-plasma...

Medium- and high-entropy carbides (MECs HECs) have a wide range of advanced applications and, in many cases, outperform monocarbides. However, the behavior, oxidation mechanisms, factors defining resistance some popular HECs at high temperatures not been studied detail yet. In this study, behavior MEC including (Ta,Ti,Nb,Zr)C, (Ta,Ti,Nb,Zr,Mo)C, (Ta,Ti,Nb,Zr,Hf)C, (Ta,Ti,Nb,Zr,W)C was investigated under both non-isothermal isothermal conditions up to 1200 °C, possible path described. It...

In this work, Ti 25 Zr Nb Hf and 20 Ta powders were obtained by the calciothermic reduction of oxide mixtures at 1200°C, structure hydrogen properties investigated. Tantalum has a negative effect, preventing formation homogeneous structure, while Ta-free alloy tends to form single BCC phase. The TiZrHfNb powder, with its exhibits faster absorption kinetics up 0.5 wt% H 2 higher capacity 1.93 (H/M = 1.98). Our results indicate that is crucial for enhanced sorption properties.

ABSTRACT A method has been developed for separating a mixture of calcium, magnesium and sodium sulfates obtained through the interaction sulfuric acid waste from water purification process generated by using membrane filters. The primary goal this is to extract gypsum produce gypsum‐based binders. Patterns were identified regarding how various types, ratio quantities additives: blast furnace slag, granite screenings, portland cement, electric steel smelting slag affect water‐gypsum ratio,...

In the present study, a powder of Ti-18Zr-15Nb biomedical alloy with spongy morphology and more than 95% vol. β-Ti was obtained by reducing constituent oxides calcium hydride. The influence synthesis temperature, exposure time, density charge (TiO2 + ZrO2 Nb2O5 CaH2) on mechanism kinetics hydride β-alloy studied. Temperature time were established as crucial parameters help regression analysis. Moreover, correlation between homogeneity lattice microstrain is shown. As result, temperatures...

Hafnium carbide (HfC) and carbonitride (HfC x N y ) nanoparticles were synthesized via reduction of the HfO 2 oxide with calcium hydride in presence carbon or carbon/nitrogen, refractory phases at 1473 K, respectively. An average particle size obtained materials laid range 50 - 90 nm, allowing them to be ranged a class nanodispersed powders. The HfC had lattice parameter 0.4640 which corresponds 1.0 stoichiometry. diffraction spectra can described by two isomorphic approximate stoichiometry...
