The mechanism of cytotoxicity 6-hydroxydopamine, 2,4,5-trihydroxyphenylalanine, dopa, dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine was explored by asking whether a reflection the potential for autoxidation each polyphenol or sulfhydryl reactivity its quinone products. polyphenols, as measured inhibition [3H]thymidine incorporation into DNA C1300 neuroblastoma cells in tissue culture, correlated with rate autoxidation, spectrophotometrically oxygen electrode studies. Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura—hemolytic uremic syndrome (TTP-HUS) is characterized by microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, fever, central nervous system abnormalities, and renal dysfunction. In early reports the mortality approached 100 percent. A treatment protocol was introduced in 1979 for patients admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital with diagnosis of TTP-HUS. Treatment regimens included 200 mg prednisone a day, minimal symptoms no symptoms, plus plasma exchange,...

X-12-ARIMA is the Census Bureau's new seasonal-adjustment program. It provides four types of enhancements to X-ll-ARIMA—(1) alternative seasonal, trading-day, and holiday effect adjustment capabilities that include adjustments for effects estimated with user-defined regressors; additional seasonal trend filter options; an seasonal-trend-irregular decomposition; (2) diagnostics quality stability achieved under options selected; (3) extensive time series modeling model-selection linear...

Abstract The decision on whether or not to include a unit root in an autoregressive operator has profound implications. Formal tests for the presence of roots give analysts objective guidance this decision. This article is practical guide use these tests. Key Words: Time seriesNonstationaryUnit rootHypothesis test

In a group of 52 patients receiving continuous intravenous heparin, 16 developed thrombocytopenia (platelets < 100 000/mm3). Ten the who had elevated titers fibrinogen-fibrin degradation products, and five these 10 also reduction in plasma fibrinogen. The abnormalities disappeared after heparin preparation was discontinued. These occurrences could not be attributed to drugs other than dose administered, or prior exposure heparin. mechanism by which may induce changes is known.

The nonstationary signal extraction problem is to estimate $s_t$ given observations on $z_t = s_t + n_t$ (signal plus noise) when either or $n_t$ both nonstationary. Homogeneous explosive time series described by models of the form $\delta(B)z_t w_t$ where $\delta(B)$ has zeroes inside unit circle and $w_t$ stationary are considered. For certain cases, approximate solutions have been Hannan (1967), Sobel Cleveland Tiao (1976). paper gives exact in forms expressions for $E(s_t\mid\{z_t\})$...
