Background Stromal corneal dystrophies can cause significant visual impairment, often requiring surgical intervention. This study evaluates the long-term outcomes of patients treated with penetrating keratoplasty (PK) and deep anterior lamellar (DALK), focusing on acuity, endothelial cell density (ECD), recurrence, complications.
Purpose. To describe the normative values of corneal endothelial cell density, morphology, and central thickness in healthy Turkish eyes. Methods. Specular microscopy was performed 252 eyes 126 volunteers (M : F, 42 84). Parameters studied included mean density (MCD), area (MCA), coefficient variation (CV) size, percentage hexagonal cells, (CCT). Results. The age 44.3 ± 13.5 (range, 20 to 70) years. There a statistically significant decrease MCD (P < 0.001; correlation, -0.388) -0.199) with...
To report the perioperative complications and clinical outcomes after deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) using big bubble technique in eyes with stromal corneal dystrophies.Seventy-four of 65 patients who underwent DALK for dystrophies were evaluated this retrospective interventional case series study. Main outcome measures intraoperative postoperative complications, uncorrected visual acuity, best spectacle-corrected spherical equivalent refraction, topographic astigmatism. There 44...
To report the clinical outcomes of deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) in patients with corneal stromal scars associated various etiologies.A total 79 eyes sparing Descemet membrane and endothelium underwent DALK by using big-bubble technique. The main outcome measures study were ability to successfully complete DALK, intraoperative postoperative complications, best spectacle-corrected visual acuity, refraction, graft clarity.Seventy-two surgical procedures carried out as mean...
In today's digital world securing different forms of content is very important in terms protecting copyright and verifying authenticity. We have previously described the use image texture analysis to identify printer used print a document. particular we set features that can be provide forensic information describing this paper will introduce identification process uses support vector machine classifier. also examine effect font size, type, “printer age”.
Purpose: To evaluate the effect and safety of diode laser transscleral cyclophotocoagulation (TSCPC) in eyes with refractory glaucoma after penetrating keratoplasty (PK). Methods: Diode TSCPC was performed on 32 patients secondary keratoplasty. The mean follow-up period 11.4 ± 3.8 months (range, 6–20 months). intraocular pressure (IOP), number medications, graft status, side effects, complications procedure were all recorded during period. treatment considered successful if one cyclodiode...
The aim of this study was to present a novel technique avoid the open-sky condition in pediatric and adult penetrating keratoplasty (PK).Seventy-two eyes 65 infants children 44 patients were operated on using technique. After trephining recipient cornea up depth 50% 70%, anterior chamber entered at 1 point. Then, only 2 clock hour segment button incised, sutured rim with single tight suture. procedure repeated until entire excised resutured. donor corneal rim. sutures between then cut off,...
To evaluate the outcomes of penetrating keratoplasty performed for therapeutic and tectonic purposes in eyes with perforated infectious corneal ulcer. This retrospective study included 43 patients who developed ulcer various etiological causes between June 2008 January 2018. The were evaluated based on age sex, follow-up time, presence perforation, pre- postoperative visual acuity, graft transparency, complications, infection recurrence. The mean was 52.9±13.8 years. time 2.7±1.3...
PURPOSE: To report the results of Descemet-stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) in eyes with toxic anterior segment syndrome (TASS) after cataract surgery. SETTING: Department Ophthalmology, Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, Istanbul, Turkey. METHODS: In this prospective study consecutive patients who had DSAEK for corneal failure due to TASS, main outcome measures were clarity, mean spherical equivalent (SE) refraction, preoperative and postoperative visual...
Abstract Introduction The purpose was to evaluate the analytical performances of Sysmex XN 3000 and UniCel DxH 800 comparing obtained results with manual counting between each other. Also flagging capabilities abnormal cells were compared for both analyzers. Methods Two thousand one hundred forty‐two whole‐blood samples analyzed evaluation. flagged due blast, atypical lymphocyte ( AL ), immature granulocyte IG or nucleated red blood NRBC ) microscopically reviewed (n=102). Results within‐run...
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the long-term effects of COVID-19 on corneal endothelial cell morphology in patients with ocular symptoms assess possible involvement who recovered. Methods: The group included diagnosed and treated at Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection irritation symptoms. control was comprised age- sex-matched individuals. controls had no pathologies. Noncontact specular microscopy (Konan Cell Check SL, Hyogo, Japan)...
Corneal stromal and/or penetrating ocular injuries from pencils and pencil lead are more common in childhood may to intraocular infection or severe sterile inflammatory reaction.Herein we report 3 children with trauma due injuries. The first case had corneal injury caused by a pencil. In the second case, perforated cornea contacted iris.In third both iris reached vitreous through lens zonules.Intracameral triamcinolone (2 mg/0.05mL) was injected after removed eyeball.Topical anti-inflammatory...
Orbital tissue infections are common of childhood that can lead to severe complications. Herein, we aimed evaluate the etiologic factors, diagnosis, follow-up, and treatment procedures in pediatric patients with orbital infections. This study was performed retrospectively between January 2014 December 2015 Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty Pediatric Infectious Disease Unit. Patients were studied for age, ophthalmologic examination features, laboratory radiology results, modalities, response these...
To report the histologic findings of penetrating keratoplasty buttons in decompensated corneas with toxic anterior segment syndrome (TASS) after a cataract surgery is performed. We evaluated 16 corneal patients who exhibited decompensation because TASS by means light microscopy. The were classified into 3 groups: first group consisted 5 mild symptoms which central thicknesses (CCTs) ≤650 μm, and visual acuities (VAs) ≥0.1. second 7 that moderate CCTs between 650 750 μm VAs 0.1 0.03. third 4...
To evaluate the 6-month outcomes of Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) in patients with pseudophakic bullous keratopathy (PBK) and Fuchs’ dystrophy (FED) a single center Turkey. The medical records who underwent DMEK were reviewed retrospectively. Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), donor corneal cell density (ECD), age, duration solution after obtaining tissue, exitus evaluated preoperatively BCVA, ECD, ECD loss (%) at postoperative 6 months postoperatively. Graft detachment,...

The mean age was 50.5 +/- 15.3 years (range, 28-76). Corneal topography Topographic Modeling System (TMS-2, Tomey) performed before and after instillation tears. index (SRI), asymmetry (SAI), potential visual acuity (PVA) astigmatism compared dry tears. Before SAI, SRI, PVA antigmatism values...
Printer identification based on a printed document can provide forensic information to protect copyright and verify authenticity. In addition intrinsic features (intrinsic signatures) of the printer, modulating printing process embed specific signature (extrinsic will further extend encoding capacity. Some generated by EP such like raggedness edge in text, be designed utilized help develop extrinsic signature. By increasing level modulation, which increase reliability detection thus...
