We report a monolithic direct-conversion X-ray imager capable of detecting diagnostic level X-rays. The is constructed by combining custom 32×32 CMOS four-transistor active pixel sensor (4T APS) array with an amorphous selenium photoconductive layer deposited on top the via post processing step. A 4T APS explicit per-pixel integration capacitor employed to increase dynamic range. Under dark conditions, input-referred electronic noise <;90 electrons (rms) estimated based measured data for...

We demonstrate measured X-ray dose efficiency results from a 5.6-μm × 6.25-μm pixel-pitch direct-conversion amorphous selenium/CMOS hybrid imager. Compared to existing scintillator-based imagers, our approach enables up 100× gains in DQE at spatial frequencies of 20-60 cycles/mm, which could radically accelerate bioengineering research. The MTF is 50% 32 corresponding 16-μm effective object size. also model confirms experimental with an RMS error 0.02.

Anastomotic leaks (AL) and staple line are a serious post-operative complication that can develop following bariatric surgery. The delay in the onset of symptoms leak usually results reactive diagnostics treatment, leading to increased patient morbidity mortality, clinical economic burden on both hospital. Despite support literature for pH as biomarker early detection AL, current methods require significant clinician involvement resources. Presented here is polyaniline (PANI)-based sensor be...

We report on the design and characterization of a monolithic single-photon-counting (SPC) X-ray detector integrating an amorphous semiconductor sensor. Our prototype combines selenium (a-Se), well-known photoconductor, with CMOS readout integrated circuit (ROIC) containing two 26×196 arrays single-energy-threshold pixels. achieve high spatial resolution for capturing single 60-keV photons by implementing 11.4- μ\textm-pitch pixels 70- μ\textm-thick a-Se sensor ROIC. present experimental SPC...

We report, for the first time, results from a single-photon-counting X-ray detector monolithically integrated with an amorphous semiconductor. Our prototype combines selenium (a-Se), well-known photoconductive material suitable large-area applications, 0.18-μm-CMOS readout circuit containing two 26×196 photon counting pixel arrays. The features 11×11-μm 2 pixels to overcome a-Se count-rate...

Anastomotic leaks (ALs) are serious postoperative complications. Current experimental studies designed to investigate based on acute intraoperative dehiscence of the anastomosis. Clinically, however, AL usually happens later in course. Presented here is a clinically relevant colonic model swine.Seventeen Yorkshire pigs were divided into 2 groups: control group (n = 6) and 11). An enterotomy was performed descending colon an end-to-end handsewn anastomosis created groups. The proximal distal...
