Whilst working on an upcoming meta-analysis that synthesized fifty years of research predictors programming performance, we made interesting discovery. Despite several studies citing a motivation for as the high failure rates introductory courses, to date, majority available evidence this phenomenon is at best anecdotal in nature, and only single study by Bennedsen Caspersen has attempted determine worldwide pass rate courses.

The high failure rates of many programming courses means there is a need to identify struggling students as early possible. Prior research has focused upon using set tests assess the use student's demographic, psychological and cognitive traits predictors performance. But these are static in nature, therefore fail encapsulate changes learning progress over duration course. In this paper we present new approach for predicting performance course, based analyzing directly logged data,...

Research over the past fifty years into predictors of programming performance has yielded little improvement in identification at-risk students. This is possibly because research to date based upon using static tests, which fail reflect changes a student's learning progress time. In this paper, effectiveness 38 traditional are compared 12 new data-driven predictors, that analyzing directly logged data, describing behavior Whilst few strong correlations were found between and performance, an...

A gene co-expression network (GCN) describes associations between genes and points to genetic coordination of biochemical pathways. However, correlations in a GCN are only detectable if they present the sampled conditions. With increasing quantity expression samples available public repositories, there is greater potential for discovery from variety biologically interesting even present, their can be masked by noise. Noise introduced natural variation (intrinsic extrinsic), systematic...

Sensorial comfort, usually described as "fabric hand or feel", is the sensation of how fabric feels when it worn next to skin. This feeling deals with properties such prickling, itching, stiffness smoothness. It can also be related its attributes physiological for instance a wet sensorial change and may cling Wet clinging major source discomfort in situations profuse sweating like firefighters' working environment. Sports compression garments (SCG) have been used by athletes for years as means of enhancement their performance and speed recovery. In this research, the investigation into effects physical attributes suitable materials composition orientation in SCG upon amount distribution pressure generated to underlying body was undertaken. Two different knitted fabrics sport garment with properties elastic were chosen. Experimental fabric sleeves assembled, so that they provided strains around...
