Biochar is a carbonaceous material produced from the slow/fast pyrolysis of biomass under limited or no supply oxygen. It has diverse uses climate change mitigation to contaminant remediation environment. However, biochar's role in bringing these changes depends on its physicochemical properties, suggesting use function-specific biochar for achieving specific target. This review summarizes basic properties and how they are affected by different modification strategies. also looks at heavy...
This study reports the mitigating strategy against salinity by exploring potential effects of biochar (5%), Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (20 g/pot, AMF), and + AMF on maize (Zea mays L.) plants grown under saline stress in a greenhouse. The was alkaline soil subjected to four different levels; 0, 50, 100, 150 mM NaCl. After 90 d for 100 NaCl treatment, plant's height fresh weight were reduced 17.84% 39.28%, respectively, compared control. When saline-treated (100 NaCl) amended with AMF,...
Incubation experiments were conducted to investigate the influencing factors of pH variation in different paddy soils during submerging/draining alternation and relationship between buffering capacity (pHBC) Cd speciation ten developed from parent materials (including 8 acid 2 alkaline soils). The soil pHBC changes pH, Eh, Fe2+, Mn2+, SO42- determined. results showed that there was a significant positive correlation cation exchange (CEC) these soils, indicating CEC is key factor affecting...
Natural resistance-associated macrophage proteins (NRAMPs) are a class of metal transporters found in plants that exhibit diverse functions across different species. Transporter facilitate the absorption, distribution, and sequestration metallic elements within various plant tissues. Despite extensive identification NRAMP family genes species, full analysis these tree species is still necessary. Genome-wide bioinformatics were performed to understand roles copper (CuCl2) stress Kandelia...
Abstract Excessive application of ammonium‐based N fertilizers promote nitrification, which is mainly responsible for intensive acidification in cropland soils. Thus, there an urgent need the development control measures to manage soil induced by fertilization. In this study, we investigated potential enriching organic C bioavailability mitigate fertilization through microbial immobilization using indoor incubation experiment. Results showed that sole ammonium sulfate [(NH 4 ) 2 SO ] or urea...
