A frequency-reconfigurable slot-ring antenna switching between L- and C-bands is presented. The aperture of an L-band can be reconfigured to a 2 × C -band array by changing the states 16 p-i-n diode switches. A novel design of frequency reconfigurable slot-ring antenna is proposed. The reconfigurability achieved by using PIN diode switches across each slot.
