We numerically demonstrate an ultrafast method to create $\textit{single}$ skyrmions in a $\textit{collinear}$ ferromagnetic sample by applying picosecond (effective) magnetic field pulse the presence of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. For small samples applied could be either spatially uniform or nonuniform while for large and localized is more effective. examine phase diagram width amplitude nucleation. Our finding ultimately used design future skyrmion-based devices.
We investigate the effect of eddy currents on ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) in ferromagnet-normal metal (FM/NM) bilayer structures. Eddy-current effects are usually neglected for NM layer thicknesses below microwave (MW) skin depth (≃800 nm Au at 10 GHz). However, we show that much thinner layers (10–100 or Cu) they induce a phase shift FMR excitation when MW driving field has component perpendicular to sample plane. This results strong asymmetry measured absorption lines. In contrast...
The collective dynamics in populations of magnetic spin torque oscillators (STO) is an intensely studied topic modern magnetism. Here, we show that arrays STO coupled via dipolar fields can be modeled using a variant the Kuramoto model, well-known mathematical model non-linear dynamics. By investigating find synchronization such systems finite size effect and critical coupling-for complete synchronized state-scales with number oscillators. Using realistic values coupling strength between...
We investigate how controlling induced eddy currents in thin film ferromagnet-normal metal (FM/NM) structures can be used to tailor the local microwave (MW) fields ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) experiments. The MW produced by will general have a relative phase shift with respect applied field which depends on sample geometry. thus partially compensate field, effectively screening FM selected parts of sample. highly localized enable excitation spin wave modes non-zero vectors (k≠0), contrast...
Magnetodynamical properties of nanomagnets are affected by the demagnetizing fields created same nanoelements. In addition, magnetocrystalline anisotropy produces an effective field that also contributes to spin dynamics. this article we show how dimensions magnetic elements can be used balance crystalline and shape anisotropies, tailor magnetodynamic properties. We study ferromagnetic ellipses patterned from a 10 nm thick epitaxial Fe film with ranging 50 x 150 450 nm. The combines...
The change in contact angles due to the injection of low salinity water or any other wettability altering agent an oil-rich porous medium is modeled by a network model disordered pores transporting two immiscible fluids. We introduce dynamic mechanism, where time dependent wetting property each pore determined cumulative flow through it. Simulations are performed reach steady-state for different possible alterations angle (θ). find that deviation from oil-wet conditions re-mobilizes stuck...
The magnetic properties of arrays nanoparticles are determined by the interplay between individual particle and dipolar interactions them. Here we present a study elliptical Fe(001) particles thickness 10--50 nm. aspect ratios ellipses 1:3, their short axes $a=50$, 100, or 150 nm, periodicity rectangular is either two four times corresponding ellipses. Magnetic measurements together with numerical micromagnetic calculations yield consistent picture arrays, comprising single-domain...
