In this paper, we propose a three-dimensional (3D) convolutional neural network (CNN)-based method for predicting the degree of motion sickness induced by 360° stereoscopic video. We consider user's eye movement as new feature, in addition to velocity and depth features video used previous work. For purpose, use saliency, optical flow, disparity maps an input video, which represent movement, velocity, depth, respectively, 3D CNN. To train our machine-learning model, extend dataset...

Abstract We propose a fast and effective technique to improve sub‐grid visual details of the grid based fluid simulation. Our method procedurally synthesizes flow fields coming from incompressible Navier‐Stokes solver vorticity generated by vortex particle for turbulence. are able efficiently animate smoke which is highly turbulent swirling with small scale details. Since this does not solve linear system in high‐resolution grids, it can perform simulation more rapidly. easily estimate...

Most geographic maps visually represent physical distance; however, travel time can in some cases be more important than distance because it directly indicates availability. The technique of creating from temporal data is known as isochronal cartography, and a form distortion for clarification. In an map, congestion expands areas, while ideal conditions make the map shrink comparison to actual scale traditional map. Although there have been many applications this technique, detailed user...

Abstract A hidden‐picture puzzle contains objects hidden in a background image, such way that each object fits closely into local region of the background. Our system converts image and line drawing, then finds places which to hide transformed versions using rotation‐invariant shape context matching. During hiding process, is subjected slight deformation enhance its similarity The results were assessed by panel puzzle‐solvers.

We present a method for constructing 3D feature flow from video and its application to stylization. Our extracts smoothly aligned vectors that describe the smallest variation of colors within spatiotemporal cube, thus effectively preserves both spatial temporal coherence in relatively inexpensive manner. Rapid economic growth and industrialization have brought material abundance convenience, but also social environmental problems such as global warming, climate change, ozone depletion. For this reason, the public governments continued to make efforts reduce carbon oxide emissions worldwide over past few decades. To achieve mission, cap-and-trade regulations been introduced one of most effective market-based mechanisms control emissions. Accordingly, sustainability efforts, including...

Abstract The rapid evolution of augmented reality (AR) technology has presented new opportunities in the domain education. Acting as a bridge between virtual and real worlds, AR overcomes physical limitations our classrooms at low cost provides an interactive learning experience. In this study, we present smartphone application, named AR‐E‐Helper, which assists students higher education lectures. Our goal is to provide AR‐enhanced experience for students. To validate effectiveness conducted...

Abstract Developing suitable interpolation methods to simulate dynamic motions of continuous materials such as fluids is an important problem. In this paper, we propose a novel method enforce the divergence condition interpolated velocity field by moving least squares (MLS), means diffusive derivatives and constraints that allow practical use easy implementation. As results, present examples fluid‐like particle simulation show meaningful potential our tool physical for fluid simulations....

Existing video matting approaches determine the alpha matte sequence frame-by-frame, which lead to flickering near boundary of foreground region. We reduce this effect by considering data as a spatio-temporal cube, and extending robust algorithm 3D solver. Our results demonstrate consistent visually pleasing mattes, tend preserve temporal coherence better than previous techniques.
