This paper confirms the new distributional records of four rare deep-water chondrichthyans viz. sharpnose sevengill shark, Heptranchias perlo (Bonnaterre, 1788); bluntnose sixgill Hexanchus griseus bramble Echinorhinus brucus and sicklefin chimaera, Neoharriotta pinnata (Schnakenbeck, 1931) from Andaman waters in Indian EEZ. The above-mentioned fish species have not been reported earlier this region. More exploratory surveys region are essential to understand diversity distribution pattern...
Background Lymphatic filariasis is an important public health problem in India. Inspite of National filarial control programme (NFCP) being place for lymphatic (LF) elimination, several issues need to be addressed. There uncertainty about the coverage and compliance treatment order achieve elimination. Method A community based cross-sectional study was conducted as per Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) directions. The included survey 200 households Dakshina Kannada District,...

This study reports the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of Rastrelliger brachysoma (Bleeker, 1851) and faughni Matsui, 1967 from Andaman Islands, India. Sample sizes for two fish species were 78 R. 57 faughni. Fish collected monthly Junglighat landing center. captured by commercial ring seine units (mesh size ranging 2 to 4 cm) between February 2016 March 2017. LWRs established as TW = 0.0042TL3.332 (r2 .989) 0.0096TL3.022 .980)
The effect of storage temperature on the microbial and sensory quality Indian Mackerel, Rastrelliger kanagurta (Cuvier, 1816) marketed in South Andaman was assessed during present study. The fishes kept at room (28°C) were monitored for 5 hours found that still acceptable with little signs spoilage, a slightly alkaline pH 7.2 bacterial load fish surface 1.8×10 4 cfu/cm 2 .At iced (4°C), belly ruptured 18 th hour 24 hour, eyes became shrunken odour rancid slight 7.5.The based standards 6.9x 10...
This study examines the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites (GIP) in equines across different feeding practices Haryana. A total 1500 faecal samples were collected from horses (967), donkeys (178), and mules (355) three agro-climatic zones. The GIP was highest among horses, with roughage-fed showing a 69.57%, followed by mixed ration-fed at 62.87%, concentrate-fed 53.21%. Donkeys exhibited under roughage (66.67%), ration (53.61%), concentrate (62.32%). Similarly, had (71.43%), (65.12%),...
The rare raninid crab Umalia trirufomaculata (Davie and Short, 1989) is recorded from India for the first time. It redescribed compared at length with related but poorly known U. misakiensis (Sakai, 1937) on basis of a good series specimens Philippines. Some supposed differences which have been documented between two taxa (e.g., carapace proportions features cheliped) are not valid; while new distinguishing characters associated male pleon gonopods observed.
The entire Himalayan region is well known as a global hotspot for biodiversity. Many workers have documented different aspect of Uttarakhand Himalaya region, part system, very rich in fresh water aquatic biodiversity because it has many streams and rivers within short distance 200 miles. All these bodies harbor diverse fauna with fishes being the most extensively studied. There are fish species reported by authors Uttarakhand. similar morphological characters (morpho-metrics) difficult to...
This study describes the length-weight relation (LWR) of small indigenous fish Pethia ticto from Gomti River, Aamghat, Haliyapur, Sultanpur district 260 29N and 810 44E, 751m (msl) Uttar Pradesh, India. A total 306 specimens were caught by random sampling method using traditional fishing gear as gillnet, cast net dragnet various mesh sizes June 2016 to May 2017, once in a month. Total Length (mm) was measured anteriormost part snout posterior-most caudal fin body weight (g) taken digital...
