Photoalignment by azo dye nanolayers can provide high alignment quality for large-area liquid crystal devices. Application of this technology to active optical elements signal processing and communications is a hot topic photonics research. In article, we review recent demonstrations performance photonic devices, discuss the advantages proposed technology, identify challenges future prospects in research field photoaligned multi-domain structures. We believe that developments discussed here...
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) plays an important role in disease diagnosis. The noise that appears MRI images is commonly governed by a Rician distribution. bendlets system second-order shearlet transform with bent elements. Thus, the powerful tool which to represent curve contours, such as brain images, sparsely. By means of characteristic bendlets, adaptive denoising method for microsection proposed. In this method, contour and texture can be identified low-frequency components, not...
Mechanical response of the carbon nanotube bundle to uniaxial and biaxial lateral compression followed by unloading is modeled under plane strain conditions. The chain model with a reduced number degrees freedom employed high efficiency. During loading, two critical values are detected. Firstly, period doubling observed as result second order phase transition, at higher compressive strain, first transition takes place when nanotubes start collapse. loading-unloading stress-strain curves...
A new long-range-dependent (LRD) degradation model is described based on the generalized Cauchy (GC) process. The GC process a two-parameter model, which describes local irregularities and global correlation characteristics of data time sequence by Hurst parameter H fractal dimension D. Compared with fractional Brownian motion (fBm) linear relationship H=2-D, two parameters are independent each other. taken as diffusion term to describe LRD uncertainty process, established in form power law...
The problem of finding various discrete breathers (DBs) in the $\ensuremath{\beta}$-Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou simple cubic lattice is addressed. DBs are obtained by imposing localizing functions on delocalized nonlinear vibrational modes (DNVMs) having frequencies above phonon spectrum lattice. Among 27 DNVMs with wave vector at boundary first Brillouin zone there three satisfying this condition. Seven robust different symmetries found using approach.
A practical approach to the search for (quasi-) discrete breathers (DBs) in a triangular $\ensuremath{\beta}$-FPUT lattice (after Fermi, Pasta, Ulam, and Tsingou) is proposed. DBs are obtained by superimposing localizing functions on delocalized nonlinear vibrational modes (DNVMs) having frequencies above phonon spectrum of lattice. Zero-dimensional one-dimensional obtained. The former ones localized both spatial dimensions, latter only one dimension. Among DBs, two families considered:...
Photoalignment of liquid crystals by using azo dye molecules is a commonly proposed alternative to traditional rubbing alignment methods. mechanism can be well described in terms rotational diffusion exposed ultraviolet polarized light. A specific feature the irradiated light intensity dependent change azimuthal anchoring crystals. While there are various mechanisms photoalignment, photo-reorientation occurs when orient themselves perpendicular polarization incident In this review, we...
