Two new isomeric photochromic diarylethenes with a pyrrole unit have been developed. Their properties, including behavior, crystal structures, and fluorescent investigated. The two compounds show distinctly different photochromism, both in solution the single-crystalline phase: one turns red upon photocyclization whereas other blue, which may be attributed to substituent effects.

Visualizing and dynamic tracking lipid droplets (LDs) are of great importance to biological research. Herein, two-photon absorption fluorescent small bioprobes based on lipophilic coumarin were developed, which exhibited high selectivity toward LDs in HeLa cells. Because good biocompatibility excellent photostability, the probes applied realize specific super-resolution visualization intracellular cells, offering us quantitative results amount diameters as well. Furthermore, capable...

Abstract Stimuli‐responsive chitosan (CS) hydrogels exhibit great potential for drug delivery and tissue engineering; however, the structure of these stimuli‐responsive CS hydrogels, such as dual pH‐ thermo‐responsive is difficult to control or needs additional crosslinking agents. Here, a new hydrogel system developed by combining pH‐responsive C 6 ‐OH allyl‐modified (OAL‐CS) with poly( N ‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM). The thiol groups in PNIPAM allyl OAL‐CS can rapidly form network...

Two novel diarylethene derivatives bearing a rhodamine unit have been successfully synthesized. Their unique multi-addressable switching characteristics as induced by chemical and optical dual inputs stimulation were observed using UV FL measurements. The two diarylethenes showed excellent photochormism with alternating UV/vis light irradiation. Addition of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) protonated the diarylethenes, which resulted in good photochromism notable fluorescence change via FRET...
