The aim of this work is to evaluate the antioxidant activity against radical species DPPH, reducing capacity Fe II ions, and inhibitory on tyrosinase enzyme T. triangulare. Hydromethanolic crude extract provided two fractions after liquid/liquid partition with chloroform. Folin-Ciocalteu method determined total phenolic content (CE) hydromethanolic fraction (Fraction 1), resulting in a concentration 0.5853 g/100 g for Fraction 1, 0.1400 CE. Taking into account results free scavenging was...

Sapindaceae family presents notable richness of liana species in the Neotropics. Many them are potentially ornamental, but still unexplored. Two were selected to test efficiency thiamine hydrochloride plant propagation from stem cuttings. Thiamine has an unexplored potential for higher and better rooting cuttings it is a cheaper alternative traditional usage phytohormones. Results showed no difference between treatment control all root variables evaluated two studied. Seedling production...

We report the occurrence of Kallstroemia tribuloides (Mart.) Steud. in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil after 136 years. is adapted to open, sunny environments with a preference for sandy soils, which are typical drylands (e.g., Caatinga biome) and Restingas. This species has attributes that may favor its expansion into newly environments, bioinvasive potential should not be overlooked. Thus, we strongly recommend further studies monitor spread K. on Brazilian southeast coast, can help control.

Epiphytes are strongly affected by the microclimate of forest canopy, therefore understanding how microclimatic changes related to functional characteristics taxa and patterns plant communities is essential. Thus, our objective was examine community vascular epiphytes along vertical gradient forests investigate whether pattern maintained in with distinct main families. The study carried out Atlantic Forest Ilha Grande, Brazil, we recorded 95 species. greatest richness abundance were found on...
