Diabetes mellitus is associated with increased fracture risk despite preservation of bone density and reduced turnover. We tested the hypothesis that circulating advanced glycation end products (AGEs) endogenous secretory receptor for AGEs (esRAGE) differentially modulate turnover predict in older men. A total 3384 community-dwelling men aged 70 to 89 years. Collagen type I C-terminal cross-linked telopeptide, N-terminal propeptide collagen (P1NP), osteocalcin (TOC) were assayed using...

Aggressive pituitary tumors (APTs) are associated with significant morbidity and mortality effective treatment options limited. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized clinical cancer care however there is little experience these agents in the management of APTs. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) targeted therapy has reported success a small number APT case reports. Here we describe carcinoma responding to ICI subsequently VEGF inhibition. We discuss possible...

Abstract Among 125 inpatients with diabetic foot infections managed by a multidisciplinary ulcer unit, knowledge of methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus colonisation status assisted decision‐making to prescribe appropriately or with‐hold empiric anti‐methicillin‐resistant therapy. Despite adherence national guidelines, apparent overuse anti‐pseudomonal therapy was frequent, providing potential antimicrobial stewardship opportunities.
