The recent COVID-19 pandemic has been disrupting the daily lives of people across world, causing a major concern for psychological well-being in children. This study aimed to examine (1) how life satisfaction and its potential predictors have affected by among school-aged children Korea, (2) which factors would predict their during pandemic. We surveyed 166 fourth-graders Seoul metropolitan area assess potentially related variables data were compared with those available from two...

Background/Objectives: Airstacking is a technique to improve lung compliance and maximum insufflation capacity (MIC) in patients with neuromuscular disorders by sequentially inflating the lungs using manual resuscitation bag. Traditional methods lack standardization rely on subjective feedback. A pilot study established optimal pressure ranges digital manometer, suggesting its potential standardize airstacking. This evaluates longitudinal effects of airstacking without feedback pulmonary...

Ischemic damage after stroke disrupts the complex balance of inhibitory and excitatory activity within cortical network causing brain functional asymmetry. Cerebellar deep nuclei with its extensive projections to regions could be a prospective target for stimulation restore inter-hemispheric enhance neural plasticity stroke. In our study, we repeatedly stimulated lateral cerebellar nucleus (LCN) by low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) 3 days rehabilitation middle cerebral artery occlusion...

Abstract Traditional computational approaches such as Monte Carlo simulation, molecular dynamics, and density functional theory (DFT) have contributed to understanding the role of hole mobility in development suitable transporting materials (HTMs) for perovskite solar cell efficiency. However, these methods often involve significant expenses, thereby limiting number feasible studies hindering extraction valuable structure−property guidelines a rational design novel HTMs. To address...

Abstract Optogenetic stimulation of the peripheral nervous system is a novel approach to motor control, somatosensory transduction, and pain processing. Various optical tools have been developed for optogenetic using fibers light-emitting diodes positioned on nerve. However, these require additional sensors monitor limb or muscle status. We present herein nerve cuff electrode that uses single conduct simultaneously neural activity The proposed designed with polydimethylsiloxane substrate,...

We often temporally prepare our attention for an upcoming event such as a starter pistol. In cases, should be properly allocated around the expected moment of to process relevant sensory input efficiently. this study, we examined dynamic changes levels near by measuring contrast sensitivity target that was cued five-second countdown. found overall level decreased rapidly after moment, while it stayed relatively constant before it. Results were not consistent with predictions existing...

Transthyretin amyloidosis cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) is an under-recognized cause of heart failure (HF) with clinical phenotypes that vary across regions and genotypes. We sought to characterize the characteristics ATTR-CM in Asia. Data from a nationwide cohort patients six major tertiary centres South Korea were analysed between 2010 2021. All underwent evaluation, biochemical laboratory tests, echocardiography, transthyretin (TTR) genotyping at time diagnosis. The study population comprised...

We report design and synthesis of the novel TRPV1 ligands through a rational approach. Simplified analogues 12(S)-HPETE showing agonistic effect are disclosed. Biological evaluation revealed that substitution functional groups without any change in conformation converted agonist into antagonist. Our work provided key information with regard to agonist/antagonist switching.
